No, God Eater released during Monster Hunter's prime on PSP so it wasnt a solution to a lack of MH, more like it was trying to sell to the existing MH fanbase on PSP.

If anything Monster Hunter on PS4 should be helping God Eater sell but it looks like the series is going to have a pretty massive decline.

Hmm, I thought it was Vita franchise, looks like it is did start on the PSP, my bad. So I guess it is just declining franchise? Does it sound like something that would do amazing in west, which is the excuse most declining Japan games get to have.

Resurrection (remake of GE1) & Rage Burst (expanded release of GE2) both came West in 2016 on Vita/PS4/Windows and I dont think they sold a whole lot.

Switch games have longer legs but it also sells more hardware and people buy games with their new purchases so it is pretty normal to see more switch games pop up (but a sale is also possible).
