Really hope ARMS kicks into second gear now. 70-80 points would be good for a new IP.

But Christ Splatoon is just killing it

Not sure. I would say:

- If more Switches gets sold then yes

- if MH fans starts buying the switch quite early and if they need a game before it releases

- If there is more to the game than what we know.

Nintypie, are you from those people that aren't aware that these numbers are shipped+with digital sales...? VGC  is tracking this game fairly well... 

 

As for the 5m+ of AC NL, what many people don't know is this : http://animalcrossingworld.com/2013/02/animal-crossing-new-leaf-reaches-2-73-million-copies-sold-in-japan/...

700k digital copies sold as of December 2012 ( on month after r the release ), you can read the reasons of these so high digital sales in Japan in the article...

Animal Crossing shipped 5.150.000 units just in Japan by March 2016. That means that the re-release of holidays 2016 is not included in the numbers. The game is quite over 5 million, if retail sales doesn't match is because digital is very big.
