if i ONLY had a WiiU? i certainly would have bought NFSU as not only the game deserves to be bought but the fact that its the best console version makes it a must buy. and i would have bought fifa because i always play with my brothers that, so being a bit port or what ever wouldnt have mattered. im not interested in mass effect so i wouldnt have bought it, maybe i would have if i was interested in the series. and you are not being difficult dont worry about it |
i see where you are coming from but IMHO there are more factors at play. NFS was a late as port even later than the Vita version, later ports rarely do even as good as the first release no matter how much better it is(cant see why some people want to ram that point home) Plus Europe just seems to be Sony land moreso than ninty, the love racing and Fifa so it makes sense to me that Sony platforms even Vita would do better in that area. I dont know what the hell is going on with Madden. I really dont, people want to say that it only "won" cause it is bundled with Vita but thats BS cause thats only in one region and its not like the game did that good either certaintly not AC3:L or COD BOD numbers, ill just chalk it up to football games not being that popular on the system yet.
Thats what i thought, i just find it weird how some people get so upset. Why should it matter if its a late port or not, if thats your only option anyway? Its not like it would make a diffrerence unless they had the system that originally had it, and if they did and choose not to buy it then thats on them. I bought ME2 for my PS3 no problem, never once did i think "i wont buy that because 360 owners had it for a year and its cheaper" If i dont have a 360 it doesnt help me cause i couldnt buy the damn game anyway. strange.

but even for a late port is performed horribly, the best example i can think of is Mass Effect 2. the game released on the ps3 an entire year later, everybody thought the game was going to stay an exclusive for the 360 just like the first one, meaning its entire fanbase was on the 360, but it still managed to sell 1.24 million units. a year later, when everybody thought the game was going to be just on the 360 when it launched, and it launched without the first game on the console and the game is VERY stroy driven. yet we look at the NFS numbers and it sold 20K. the vita version outsold it by over 15 to 1. there is no denying that the numbers are horrible, so why even bother?
the fact that its a late port shouldnt really matter, because it would only really effect the sales if the consoles owners of the WiiU have another system to buy it on, and thats the thing, if they have other consoles just make the games on those consoles which rank in much, much more money in the first place and not waste money on a port.
also who ever says they dont want to buy a game because it looks slightly worse then the 360 version is full of bullshit, they are just saying those stuff to attack EA, which seems like the cool thing to do lately

Ladies.... there we go the level of stupid has got even higher! ..with complete bias comparison... EA feeds the trolls and they continue to eat ...

Oh dont misunderstand me, i know its doing bad. But as someone said before the PS360 fanbase is very similar in taste, so what tends to do good on one will do about the same on the other. The fact that a late port could do that well, proves it. But with the WIi and now WIi U i guess, kinda a different story. Also i think NFS is not that big on Ninty consoles at least nowhere near as big as ps3 or 360 just trying to shed more light, no denial here.
Not gonna touch your 2nd paragraph, ill reamain indifferent cause i know someone is gonna say something about that.
Oh trust me I know that. I think its a pride thing.
You have to love the audacity of some to suggest that the quality of the games was the real issue. As if those games had been much better. They would have had incredible sales on the platform. Going by the recent track record of laid out for us by the Wii, and tracked by this site. There is absolutely no evidence of such a causality. Owners of the Nintendo platforms don't typically respond to the quality inherent in third party offering. They seemingly only know how to do one thing with good third party games. They treat them as if they were garbage, and totally unworthy of their money.
It is simply what Nintendo owners do when presented with quality that doesn't come out of Nintendo. Electronic Arts doing poorly on Nintendo platforms isn't a new phenomena. Last generation they didn't have a single game that saw a sell through of more then two percent of the install base, and they averaged less then one percent. Setting aside the debate about what makes something good. Electronic Arts released seventy games for the Wii. The law of percentages tells us they should have struck gold at least a few times let alone once.
The issue really isn't quality, and it never has been. That is just a poor excuse being offered up to deflect criticism of the platform, and its audience. Which is entirely justified. It doesn't matter what Electronic Arts offered up, or how much extra work they put in. They would have got about the same result. Actually they would have probably done much worse if they put more effort in.
These numbers are just further proof of what we all know. Electronic Arts was doing abysmal on Nintendo platforms, and that is saying something given their capacity for getting the greatest amount of reward for the least work possible. I mean when the quickest and dirtiest ports can't turn a profit. Well there is nowhere else for them to go other then calling it quits.
I am starting to wonder if some Nintendo fans are trying to scapegoat Electronic Arts for the difficulties the Wii U is having post launch. Sure it hurts the platform as far as style points are concerned, but they didn't design, price, or are the ones responsible for the marketing the machine. They aren't even holding back other companies from developing games for the platform either. They just aren't throwing away their money developing for it.
If the console gets discontinued, or it becomes a barren wasteland. I hope you guys don't intend to blame Electronic Arts for that. Blame Nintendo or blame yourselves. Like some other posters have pointed out. Electronic Arts is hardly unique in their not supporting the Wii U. There are a lot of developers doing the same, and some of them aren't at all small.
EA released nothing meaningful on Nintendo platforms? ME3, Madden, Fifa, NFS, that's practically the crux of EAs annual releases as shitty as they are and as late as they came. Just sounds like damage control from the fans to me.

Or... it's because of the shitty support they give Nintendo products. $60 for Mass Effect 3 a year after it came out? Trick, please. |
Compared to Fifa 12 2.0 and NFS: No Traffic Edition for the Vita. lol ok
What a ridiculous thread.
Boasting about abysmal numbers being higher than other platforms abysmal numbers.

Right. *looks at Just Dance sales* The mind boggles... |
Doesn't actually disprove my point at all. Tiger Woods on Wii peaked on the third annual release, then started to decline. Just Dance sales collapsed after the third game. Guitar Hero on Wii started to decline after the third title. Catching a pattern yet?
The only difference is that Just Dance had a broader appeal than golf and a much lower price tag than Guitar Hero.
