What games did EA actually put out on Wii/DS/3DS vs PSP/Vita? Pretty sure its an uneven comparison.

Those five platforms account for less than 3% of EA's revenue. As far as EA is concerned, they are all dead to them. There's no victory for anyone in this thread.

You hear that, pezus? No victory.

Games released for 3DS in 2012:

Fifa 13

Games released on Wii in 2012:

Fifa 13
Madden 13

Games released for PS Vita in 2012:

Fifa 13
Fifa Football
Madden 13
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Plants vs Zombies

Gee, who'd have thought that PS Vita game sales would be higher, when SO MANY games were released by EA for the 3DS and Wii?

(Note: their last DS release was in 2009. Fifa 13 released for the PSP in 2012)

I always find it hilarious when people try to go "see? the company made more money on <system>, therefore they should put more games on <system> than on <Nintendo system>"... and then, when you look at number of games released, you discover that the system got far more games. Many times, the average revenue per game is lower on the other platform, but that gets ignored, because it doesn't fit the narrative.

Total revenue on PSP/PSV: $20 million

Total revenue on Wii/DS/3DS: $14 million

Average revenue relative to titles sold within the entire year for PSP/PSV: $4 million/release

Average revenue relative to titles sold within the entire year for 3DS/DS/Wii: $4.33 million/release

But hey, clearly EA is "right" for not supporting Nintendo consoles, right? They really should put more effort into the Vita, where there's clearly much more untapped potential</sarcasm>

PS Vita is dead yet it still beats stuff up all the time. Good boy.

Forgot WiiU

Madden, FIFA, Mass Effect 3, NFS: MW and probably more I forget. Tell me why WiiU doesn't count towards "Total Console" software sales

I don't know whether they count, but we don't know how well they sold from EA's perspective, since Wii U isn't listed at all. Meanwhile, it's not really a fair thing to look at, given that ALL FOUR were late ports, with one of them royally sabotaged (hi there, Mass Effect Trilogy for everything else), and another one released 4 months late despite having released on the other systems around the time of the Wii U launch.

And nope, you're not forgetting any other Wii U titles. Those four will be their entire Wii U lineup until at least the end of 2013.

The WiiU had Mass Effect 3, Need For Speed U, Fifa 13. yet look at the numbers. these are financial numbers here, nothing for the press or nothing for marketing. there are two logical places were the numbers for the Wii are, either lumped in with the "Wii" numbers or lumped in with the "other" numbers. if its in the "other" catagory and considering even the PS2 had its own numbers pointed out its safe to say that the WiiU numbers are nothing short of abysmal, thus being lower than the PS2's 2 million sales. so the maximum number of revenue from all 4 nintendo consoles was less than 16 million, again absymal, the numbers speak for them selfs, and this is considering that the sales of these consoles are MUCH higher than the vita's+PSP's.

another thing is that even if we just take the 3DS's numbers with just fifa, with the number of sales the console is having the revenue should have been MUCH higher, yet the vita still manages to outperform it, you know the vita? the console with the really bad sales?

then look at the YoY change for the handheld sections for both platforms. sony handhelds revenue grew by 233% while the nintendo handhelds section only grew by 80% even though the 3DS sales this year were around what? 4 times much the vita's?

the numbers speak for them selfs, there is no emotion in this, no hate, no conspiracy theories, nintendo platforms arent the place for EA to make money, thats why they arent supporting them lately. if you were in EA's place would you support nintendo after looking at these numbers?

If you're not even willing to take enough time to add together two numbers correctly, I have no interest in continuing the discussion with you, especially if you're not willing to take the time to read a couple of extra paragraphs in my post.

i skimed through them because you did diceded to ignore the WiiU numbers and games as if they dont exist were are either with the Wii numbers or with the other number( yet obviously lower than the ps2 numbers because if they were they would have gave it its own catagory).

even though i made a mistake with adding them up it doesnt change the point, all 4 nintendo platforms made less than 16 million of revenue.

Edit : fucked up about popcap being owned by EA, my bad

also your calcuation is wrong as well, plants vs zombies is published by popCap games not EA, making your avarage revenue per platform calculation wrong.

popgames is part of EA but your overall premice is right, im assuming Wii U numbers are lumped in the Wii's considering 5 million is kinda high for just the Wii with little to no releases

Well to be fair, its not like EA is giving their A effort.

Now with that being said, if you are a Wii U owner would you buy those games? Assuming that you ONLY have a Wii U? Im not being difficult i am curious

they certainly havent, but its not like they gave vita their A effort or even B effort either. and thats the thing, they wanted to cash in but they failed miserably (with nintendo consoles) from a money stand point that makes sense not to continue that effort. im honestly not attacking nintendo or WiiU, im simply saying that they can make much more money else where and that is what they are doing.

if i ONLY had a WiiU? i certainly would have bought NFSU as not only the game deserves to be bought but the fact that its the best console version makes it a must buy. and i would have bought fifa because i always play with my brothers that, so being a bit port or what ever wouldnt have mattered. im not interested in mass effect so i wouldnt have bought it, maybe i would have if i was interested in the series. and you are not being difficult dont worry about it
