Forums - Gaming - EA last quarter had higher revenue from the PSP/Vita than Wii/DS/3DS

I think it's safe to say that Vita alone > all Nintendo platforms combined when looking at the table and considering how PS handhelds did last year.

Must be all of those boycotts against EA, right? >_>

The boycotts are because of no games and the few are crappy ports (minus Need for Speed Wii U). Those numbers reflect that.

And there's only 1 3DS game coming from EA (FIFA 13) and that game alone made them 9 million in revenue. If they decided to port Need for Speed and Madden 13 to the 3DS the numbers would have probably been the same or very close. (Vita would have still won because of the bundles)

what a load of crap, comparing apples and oranges. I am yet to see a EA game on 3DS lol, and well not liek they put much effort in the other two consoles.

I can help you with the EA games on 3DS:

Fifa Soccer 13

Need for Speed: The Run

Madden NFL Football

Again, how was the thread title edited for accuracy when it's less accurate now? >_>

Wii brand (WiiU+Wii) + PS2 + PS3 + 360 = Total Console sales

Here's a simple example:

Take Q4 2013

Xbox 360 + PS3 + Wii + PS2 = 379 + 404 + 5 + 2 = 790
Total Consoles = 790

=> 360+PS3+Wii+PS2 = Total Consoles
=> Wii (brand)= Wii+WiiU

If that were the case then they are doing a terrible job in their reports, because instead of "Wii" only it should say "Wii brand"

This also doesn't make sense because PS2 and PS3 are separate. It should say "Playstation brand" or something.

This was my reasoning as well.

There is no PlayStation Brand, only a separate PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2.

And when consoles are grouped together, the spreadsheet specifically names them ("Nintendo handhelds" and "Sony handhelds") as they are.

From what's in front of us, I made the call to edit the title. Currently discussing it with the other mods.

It makes sense if WiiU numbers were too low to report individually.

It also makes perfect sense because they say "total consoles" right there and why would they not include WiiU in that?

Need for Speed and FIFA 13 (Mass Effect 3 should be here as well I think) made less money than the PS2? that's kinda hard to believe.

Either way if that's indeed the case like I said, for a multi million dollar company who has professionals working for them they are doing a terrible job in this report. They have a section for "Nintendo handhelds", having a section with "Nintendo consoles" or "Wii brand" would have made much more sense than just "Wii", or simple have them separate.

PS2 is still selling decently in parts of the world where FIFA is especially big. Quite possible.

So they simply forgot to add the WiiU in or what? :O

Maybe is like Rol said, the Wii U is in the "Other" section, which wouldn't surprise me.

Then you would also be implying that they don't include WiiU in Total Console Software Sales, which I don't think is a possibility. Regardless, the report is surprisingly unclear for an official report. Was there no text that came with that table, anyone?

If the evidence is there, I'll definitely do my part to ensure that the title is correct. But yes, the report is rather odd in its wording.

EDIT: Is there even a complete EA Quarterly Report thread, or is this snippet of information all we have for discussion?

What games did EA actually put out on Wii/DS/3DS vs PSP/Vita? Pretty sure its an uneven comparison.

What the hell has EA put on those platform in the last year!? Garbage! Trolling at its best...

Those five platforms account for less than 3% of EA's revenue. As far as EA is concerned, they are all dead to them. There's no victory for anyone in this thread.

Except for Train Wreck. Those little things do count for him.
