Forums - Gaming - EA last quarter had higher revenue from the PSP/Vita than Wii/DS/3DS

There's no mention of WiiU though.

What EA games were released for the Vita in Q4 2013?

That's pretty good considering the Sony handheld market share.
Then again when you consider the EA titles on the Nintendo platforms it doesn't mean much.

It's like EA is between a rock and a hard place with Nintendo. Yes, the titles released on the Nintendo platforms are gimped and really bad ports but at the same time is it really worth the effort of making a solid port that can result in poor sales and a wasted effort?

I am a Nintendo fan but when it comes to third party titles on their consoles I am not quick to blame the developers.
The wii's hardware success was based a lot on it being a second console and many multi-plat games would find themselves on the HD console of the gamer that owned a wii along with an HD conso

The wii u is not setting the world alight.

The developers are running a business, not a charity. They must do what they think is right for their business and gimping nintendo titles or totally ignoring them must seem to them to be the best financial option.

I hope that somewhere there is a sweet spot between developers like EA and Nintendo but I just cannot see where it is.

I think both Nintendo Wii U (since they're really not even supporting the 3DS) and Vita both have horrid sales for EA, what tipped the scales in favor of the Vita was that Madden NFL Vita hardware bundle.

If that sells even 50,000 units, lol, that's probably more than enough to put EA's Vita sales above the Wii U. They had the bundle in Canada anyway, not sure if it was in the US.

PSP+PSV are bigger than all Nintendo platforms combined. I think the horrid sales refers to WiiU because its not even reported, or merged with Wii, which only did over twice as good as the fucking PS2.

And what exactly have they made for Nintendo-consoles to deserve sales, the gimped version of Mass Effect 3, the reskinned version of FIFA, the reskinned version of Madden or the 4 months late port of Need For Speed

The port of need for speed was actually improved by criterion for the wii u version though.

Wooow! one old ported game thats improved... well that obviosly means EA should have profited right?

WII U IS NOT LISTED.

Title fail.

You guys are acting as if the Vita got any better games.. what's worse, getting a bad wiiu port or a lazy port of a 7 months port for vita which is the Fifa 13..
Only Need for speed was worth purchasing.. and so EA earned more money on PS than on nintendo systems. YAAY!

If you look at the numbers you will see that the "Nintendo handhelds" section got 9 million in revenue with 1 game while the "Sony handhelds" section got 20 million in revenue with 3 games.

If the 3DS would have gotten the same number of games as the Vita then the revenue would have probably been the same.

Considering that FIFA is the biggest EA IP by far, that's not likely. Closer, but not equal.

So it's 3 Vita games vs. 3 Nintendo EA games on 3 (or 4 ) platforms?

Wii U is not present in those numbers so is basically Wii and 3DS (don't know how many games EA release on the Wii)

Madden and FIFA on Wii, FIFA on 3DS

Sorry but what are those 3 Vita games that came out between Jan 2013 and Mar 2013?
