Forums - Nintendo - Wii-U's gpu is called Mario, and AMD named it that over 4 years ago.

Yup, both the Zelda and Japanese Garden tech demos are very impressive...and they were done within the space of a few months with unfinished and underpowered dev kits.

Of course once this or anything by anyone else is released that's beyond the PS3 and 360 to reproduce you'll still have people with an agenda in denial. The Wii U third party trailer at E3 a couple of years ago is a prime example of this.

This was one of the funniest moments in gaming history (for me). The haters jumped all over the trailers and said how shitty, how despicable the gameplay looked, how far behind the Wii U is yadda yadda yadda.....then  Reggie announced that it was XBox 360 footage :D LMAO !!!

Yup there is a "group"of people that always go.   "Its not more powerful than our current console"   And when they are proven wrong they  change to  "of course its better its  XY years newer than our old console  silly you"   and when their new console comes out  "WiiU is so much weaker than our console  how embarassing for Nintendo"

Those people =  sʇoıpı

The Zelda demo looked a bit to polished in my opinion, and almost perfectly sharp. It was like watching the PC version of a multi-platform game with additional filtering options, i don't think we will see Wii-U games that look that sharp. Also the demo showed one confined space.

As it is Wikipedia it would be easy for to check when it was edited...

What makes you think the Wii U couldn't pull off "additional filtering options"?

So you believe that AMD had "mario", "luigi", "koopa", "wario" and "boom" as codenames?

Where do you get this from? I only told you that before you make assumptions you should use the tools they provide and then you can easily find out if this was "just edited".

It can but but it would be way to heavy, the demo shown seems to be running at full-hd with additional filtering. I don't expect any 3d game on Wii-U to run at 1080P.

Well Zelda demos so far have always been surpassed by the final product so going by history Zelda U should be more impressive. You've also got to remember that those demos were done on underpowered hardware.

I'd say it's pretty much guaranteed that the likes of 3D Mario, Retro's new title and Zelda U will all be gorgeous.

The Zelda Tech Demo was 720P, no AA. From Digital Foundry:

The Zelda demo, or "HD Experience" as Nintendo calls it, is almost certainly running at a native resolution of 720p, with no anti-aliasing and seems to be locked at 30 frames per second with v-sync engaged"
