The first Mass Effect is very over rated if you ask me, it's not bad but also not amazing. Mass Effect 2+3 is where the series starts to shine.

Around 2009/2010 when I got ME1, it gave me the best experience I've ever had in a game. The world looked so real and so "space operish". The game mechanic was sub par but the story was engaging and satisfying for each planet I cleared. As for the Mako, I never had problem with it because every time I had a chance I took it to an empty planet and made some donuts to get accustomed with the handling. So when it was time for a mission with Mako I was blasting through the enemies using rockets and machine gun. It was fun using Mako.

M2 is a Gears of Wars with some RPG elements sprinkled on it. The other characters side story were as generic as Chinese counterfeit. ME3 tried to bring back some RPG elements of the first one but they didn't have much impact. I did one play-through in ME3 and did not visit it again since March last year.

I love all three games in the series.

But considering how you feel about the original, I think you'll love number 2 and 3. They are very different indeed.

I personally love Mass Effect but I hate instead other so called AAA games like Uncharted, God of War, Killzone, Resistance I think all of this games are heavily overrated and beside of graphics there is nothing real special about this games.

So I really understand if someone not appreciate all this overrated AAA games, I as well think that many of this games are boring.

All they talk about those games is graphics. It's like toddlers looking at the dangling keys.

Maybe Call of Duty 1000 is more of your thing champ

I don't like ME, therefore I'm a lowly CoD casual player.

Stupidest comment I've read in a long time.

Well lowly casual CoD players are monsters so.....

Mmkay.

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

It's a Poor shooter and a slightly above average rpg with a lot of cool ideas that don't work. If you put 25 hours into the game, (imo) you put too much time into the tedius meaningless boring stuff that bioware put into the game. That game has about 14-16 hours of fun content.

Alas I still enjoyed it a lot. As it still captured the sort of star trek/exploring outer space that the sequals lacked. And to me was a game where the sum was greater than it's parts.

It's sequals are a good cover shooter (If you want to call uncharted a mediocre TPS, than sure this is mediocre too), with the RPG Social System, and streamlined RPG experience/equipment system. But to me felt, mostly what mass effect was going for anyways.

My favorite is 2 by far. 1, has good ideas with a lot of bad things. And I don't like 3.

It still doesn't get in my head how the fuck this game can be called an "RPG".

It's a fucking shooter (a bad shooter) and I hate it. You are right, don't worry.

You are a monster, but for a different reason. Some incredibly sly Wii U stealth trolling in your second sentence. You just couldn't refrain from rubbing it in.

Lol. I think I wanted to point out that I couldn't buy the 1st game standalone and I was stuck with the whole trilogy. But I guess I shouldn't be complaining now.
