I hated the first 10 hours of ME1 enough to not care for ME2/3. The graphics and storyline were nice on PC at its release, but the lackluster shooting was just soooooo boring. So, yeah, you're a monster. But at least you have monster friends to be a monster with.

All of this, of course, is just my opinion.

Skyrim 100%'d. Dark Souls 100%'d.
Dark Souls > Skyrim.
Halo 4 is the best damn FPS since Halo 3.

I levelled up to 60 through about 3 play throughs on Mass Effect and didn't find the game a chore. It's a game like any other though, some will like it some won't (then again some posters here will say its overrated having never played through it to have a valiud opinion).

When you play Mass Effect 1 now you gotta go with the mindset that you're playing a game that was released in the beginning of a gen so graphics won't look stunning and the mechanics is of a first (experimental) part of a series. The story is rich and you shouldn't concentrate so much on the shooting part. The story will suck you in.

After the raving reviews from both magazines and users I decided to give this game a try. I bought the trilogy for PS3 and I just finished the mission in Virmire in the original Mass Effect.

Well, I'm kind of bored. I guess I don't care about the story that much for it carry the game. I don't find the game mechanics enjoyable enough by themselves. I was enjoying it quite a lot at the beginning, talking to NPCs in the Citadel and doing all the side quests. I like sci-fi and the setting and lore seemed genuinely interesting. But the story and lore can't keep me entertained for the 25h or so I put into this game, after a while it starts to drag despite some interesting moments in the story.

The rest of the game is just alright. I'm starting to really hate the Mako and the rest of the combat is... eh. I guess there's some depth there that I'm not digging for. It's probably my fault because I think I'm not really into WRPGs, I thought this game might have convinced me and I was very interested in the sci-fi setting, but I guess it's not for me.

That's it, just sharing my thoughts about it. Do you think ME2 will change my mind or should I quit the trilogy?

Also, I guess, share your thoughts about the game and why you loved/disliked it or whatever.

I too absolutely loath the Mako portions of the game. I actually just beat the game 6 more times in the last month (3 times on paragon, 3 times on renegade) and I actually made myself a 'necesity' list for the missions to see which ones would carry on into ME2/3 and just skipped other missions on the first two playthroughs of each character disposition.

That was the only bad thing imo about the game and I thought the storyline was amazing. The directing/editing at a lot of times was way off for some cut scenes. They definitely could have done a better job on the immersion of the cut scenes.

Overall though the game is fantastic and ME2 is even better but has less RPG elements.

It is the worst of the 3 by far, but still far and away better than most games. It did not age well this gen right away as the graphics are weak, and third person shooter mechanics have gone up a lot in quality since then. It has the most simple story. The worst fighting system. If you played it closer to release it was better as the world was so fresh, and it has a much more in depth story, choose your own adventure than anything really. Actually, I say it has the toughest final boss of all the games which is also makes the boss the most enjoyable. Yes, you are a monster, and you make me throw up a little in my mouth.

It´s a shitty OVERRATED game, don´t worry; and most of all: don´t play it.
