When you play Mass Effect 1 now you gotta go with the mindset that you're playing a game that was released in the beginning of a gen so graphics won't look stunning and the mechanics is of a first (experimental) part of a series. The story is rich and you shouldn't concentrate so much on the shooting part. The story will suck you in.
