Yes...that's what I said, thanks for parroting my own statement back to me. |
But as I also said, it isn't black and white. Just go easy on the confetti.

That doesn't really matter. Why?
Global Software by Platform
360 apparently still sold more software in 2012. We don't know how many PS3s broke down from YLOD or firmware updates. |
They'll deny it just like they denied the infamous PS2 "Disc Read Errors"

A profitable sale is wayyy better than a loss leading sale. |
Tell me how this is relevant.
Does selling 70 million units at a loss mean it hasn't sold 70 million units? Of course not.
A fact is a fact, spin doctor.

Not black and white.
Look below the surface. Profitability, past generation performance, time it took to achieve, next generation fully underway in November, people giving a s%&t.
Im starting to find the amusment in you clinging to the bare essentials for the sake of your ideals.

^ lol, so true.

Furthermore, your just saying that anybody can win, all they have to do is lose more money lol
Thats not how business works. And if your gonna be a Sony cheerleader, you have to care about their business side as well. Thats just how being a fan works :)

You've expanded the argument to something it isn't. You responded to a post of mine saying that the "bare essentials" as you call them are obsolete, when in fact, they are the only concrete, objective metrics.
| kowenicki said: I'm not spinning. Just clarifying a post with a very relevant fact. One sale is not neccessarily as good as another sale from a business perspective. From a purely units sold persepective it may be. The PS3 would have sold more if it had launched at a lower price, yes? Also, if they hadnt cut the price when they did, and sustained large losses, they would have sold less. Its very simple. |
Okay, but I'm not arguing this. I'm not sure if you've followed but this guy was the one who I responded to:
| mii-gamer said: It's like awarding sony the gold medal for crossing the finish lines. While competitors have already finished the race long time ago and readying themselves for the next competition, Sony just scrapes over to finish the race. Congratulations |
I simply said his logic was bunk. sales2099 tried to use subjective arguments to refute the objective proof that mii-gamer's logic was bunk.

NO !
It will happen nice and slow and we shall savor it. (before you push the report button know I regret nothing.)

So if MS releases NextBox for 149$, selling sh**loads of units while taking very huge losses you would say it's a win for MS and a loss for Sony if they would only manage to sell a fourth of NextBox numbers but were profitable? Really?

Huh? Learn to read, dude.
I said that 70 million units sold is 70 million units sold, no matter if it's sold at a loss or a profit.
It isn't about winning or losing, it's about being factual - something you clearly aren't capable of grasping.
