Didn't they convert all the other Wii-VC-games to WiiU?

Above is all that is known to be coming so far. Unfortunately they can't just pop the games over (even if it is using same virtual engine) because they are upgrading each game to utlize the gamepad.

Your statement confuses me.

Were you not able to move your wii content over to wii u?

well if i cant register it i wouldnt be able to move them over right? i dont have a wii u but that was my understanding of how it linked games to your account? I have a wii with all the gmaes i bought and i have to register it with my account with nintendo to get it to move over, if it will not accept my wii then what? I must be missing something? If so please educate my ignorance, because i would like to when i decided to get a wii u down the road.

If you can buy ish from Wii's eShop then I don't see why you can't transfer the games. I don't believe there is a requirement that it has to be connected to a Nintendo Club account. (I'm assuming that's what you mean by "register")

All you need to do is use the transfer tool and it copies the data over to your new (and hopefully now registered) WiiU, where you then create a NNID and attach that to your account.

They make off-TV-play. Once this is in their emulator-code, it should work for all games. It is not like they are remaking the game to fit on the pad, they only add these features to the emulator.

If that is the case then i hope so, thank you for the information. Yeah i think it was the nintendo club, its been a few months, i just know i will need to reset some passwords and figure out my username when i go back.

Just redeemed Super Metroid with my coins, so that would be $1.5 not a bad price.

They make off-TV-play. Once this is in their emulator-code, it should work for all games. It is not like they are remaking the game to fit on the pad, they only add these features to the emulator.

So you've seen their underlying code and architecture?

I would like to think they have a base emulator and modularized controls. This way its just as you say, the need to create two new control modules (gamepad and procontroller) once they upgraded the emulator to work on Wii U hardware.

However, even if they have it designed correctly, they still needed to build the underlying framework and then they need to test each and every game. Once its passed, they move it to the eShop.

So its not instant and they don't have infinite resources to do all that. It still takes time. Wii had a VC service with... like 5 games at launch and 3 or so games every couple weeks or something. Wii U is starting off with over 15 games and we have no idea how quickly new games will come out.

We also have no clue what their licensing were for all those games. Look at that list. How many 3rd party games? How many non-Nintendo consoles where Wii had SEGA and others right away. Hopefully 3rd parties and Nintendo made enough money from all those other consoles/games that they will invest the testing time and resources in pushing ALL VC content to Wii U.

But its not free or instant or without licensing/legal obligations.

EDIT: You're also forgetting any prep that is needed for it to work with the new save feature and miiverse.

That game will be $0.30 in a month on Wii U.
