Awesome. 2D right? Finally a 2D Zelda for me to play XD. Better play LTTP1 on VC 1st.

A 2D Zelda with glasses-free 3D.

Oh, god damn it. I was hyped, but that art style just kills it for me. Fuck 2.5D.

Still, seeing some of those familiar things really makes me nostalgic.

I'll take it.  I would have preferred a sprite based 2D Zelda, but any sort of traditional top down has me excited after less than enthusiastic DS offerings.

Is this the first LoZ #2 (sequel) ever?

Do you mean direct?  As in the same Link and Zelda?  Zelda 2 was a direct sequel to original NES game, and Majora's Mask was direct to Ocrarina and Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks were direct sequels to Wind Waker.

Link to the Past was an obsession of mine in middle school. I beat that game over and over, and my love for it lead me to rent (and then buy) Secret of Mana, which was my gateway drug to JRPGs.

I am beyond hyped.

Yes! x 50 billion. And while I love what I saw in the trailer the best part about this is that I'll get another excuse to play through the original one more time.

Since I'm not very nostalgic about 2D Zeldas, I admit to being a bit disappointed. Still, it makes me glad to see so many users being happy about this announcement :)

Reading these comments it is clear that no matter what Nintendo showed today some would be happy and others would not.

Least I got what I wanted for first time since Minish Cap.

Have you ever played an old school 2D Zelda? I to this day, think that the original LoZ might be the best in the whole series! And not only because of nostalgia; it had more action going on than todays Zelda's and it was all about exploration! Man, the first time I played it I didn't know what I was supposed to do... My big brother told me to go down into the cave, but as a little brother I oppose every idea from my older sibling, so I went exploring. And died. And I didn't find Dungeon 1 first... I think I found 2 or 3 first....

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Just wanted to point out that Link to the Past Link will have starred in FIVE games when this releases, and that I don't mind a more puzzle focused game (like Minish Cap.) I DO mind a more dialogue heavy 2D Zelda though, like the Oracle games.
