Forums - Sony - Why Sony won next gen already

Well, I consider my self a nintendo gamer, and I can safely say that he knows nothing about what he's talking about. 1 or 2 games a year? Yeah, right. Not to mention that many fans think these "1 or 2" games are superior to other games, so they buy the console anyway.

Sony as won every generation it took part, in a way or another.

PS1 and PS2 as best sellers. PS3 not top selling console (yet), but by far the best console of the generation. Most powerful, most exclusives, most third parties. It has the best of all worlds.

So yeah, I'm confident PS4 will win too.

I was thinking about the bolded part. How can a console have most third parties? That would mean they have several third party games no one else has; but by saying that you mean they're not third party, but second party (as no one else has 'em). So they have the same amount of third party as the rest...no?

Kind of strange if you think about it.

PS3 had more support than Wii. And had pretty much identical support to X360 when it came to big multiplats. However, PS3 had a lot of exclusive niche titles from big publishers (Sega's Yazuka series, Namco's Tales games, Ni No Kuni, the list goes on).

So the PS3 still had the best third party support of the gen. It didn't miss out anything from 3rd parties but Wii and 360 did.

But I mean, those games you've listed are not third party, but second party! Or third party games can be exclusive too and I'm missing something?

More impatient knee-jerk reactions... No, Sony hasnt won anything yet.

That is something we will only be able to tell in a couple of years. Much can still change.

Well you remember the Wii used to be dismissed as competition because it was after "another" audience? well, the 720 won't be competing with PS4 or Wii U that much either, its main competitors will be Apple TV, Google TV, Ouya...

/sarcasm

Sarcasm all well and good but is there a point in there?

There, highlighted just for you.

lmao, now that was pretty good! :D

Agreed.,and I am more than anything, a PC gamer, and have always been. But I have also been an avid console gamer from about 1987 until about late 2007. I have been a PC gamer for well over 30 years now, though I loved playing consoles games inbetween. When the Xbox/PS2 hit, I really fell in love with the Xbox and its power and playabilty, especially Xbox Live and playing online, along with decent graphics on a TV, though it still wasn't comparable to PC; the PS2 didn't compare. My buddy bought the PS3 when I got a 360, I was unconvinced with the PS3 as much as I played with his system (he even has a 360 as well) as it had issues with programming (think Skyrim) over the course of its tenure now, where the 360 didn't as much.

Having said that, I got bored with console gaming, as over the past 5 years, I have only bought 4 console games where I've bought 20+ PC games and all were available on console. The lack of modding, graphics caught up with what I felt ten years ago with the consoles then. But with this next gen coming up, I don't see the purported adavantage Sony wll have in hardware trumping MS for marketing thier products. Seriously, anything so minute in graphics and power differential will not win the console war. It's not like comparing a 6-core Intel I7 with two Nivdia 690 graphics cards in SLI to another console, they will be close enough in pwer as to make that differnce a moot point. Sony should well think about marketing their stuff a bit better.

Well, that sure is a mouthful.

So, what's your point? If you're reply is in regards to my previous posts, then you have misplaced your PC supremacy meme as some do in ad hominem. I only made my post as a matter of fact of how gaming has been for me personally over the years.

*yawn*
Yes, lets buy stuff from the dragons treasure. Which dragon? The dragon we haven't faced yet, but that we will defeat for SURE!

10 years greatest game event!

bets: [peak year] [+], [1], [2], [3], [4]

The WiiU will fail because it has no big games announced or released (except for smash bros, pikmin, mario kart, 3d mario, 2d mario, monster hunter and dragon quest). The PS3 will succeed because Sony is bribing some indie developers.

The WiiU failed because it did what the Wii did, and thus that liked it are happy with their Wii, and people that didn't like it don't like it. The PS3 will succeed because "the PS4 is basically just more of the same,"

The 360 will fail because journalists made some shit up about how it will block used games and freeze if disconnected from the internet? Where was this author a few months ago when journalists were making shit up about how the PS4 would block used games and require an internet connection.

Thanks for the article, I haven't laughed that hard in weeks.

No, you misunderstood - I mean this generation, as in Wii U, PS4, XB720. There's nothing new being brought to how we game, just amped up specs and prettier pictures of the same rehashed franchises. It's like puking up food, adding food coloring and eating it again, only to puke it out again and add different food coloring. =D

Too early to say. (Ps4 and XB720 are not even out yet)

Let's hope you're wrong! :)

I'd love to be wrong, so many good studios have already closed up (I want TimeSplitters 4!!!! >:( )
