the non premium cars are straight ported from GT4 or even the PSP GT. I haven't seen worse looking cars in all racers I've played this gen (PGR3+4, Forza 2-4, Horizon, Dirt 1-3,Dirt Showdown, Grid, GT5 Prologue, NFS Most Wanted 2005 - Most Wanted 2012 etc.)
The standard tracks are a tiny bit better.... maybe launch graphic levels.

The worst thing is you are being forced to use them when you start a new carreer (might've changed with the patches, but there was no way around it for the first few months). So you can't even choose if you wish to play the nice GT5, you need to beat the "PS2 version" before you can get to the real game.

I agree the some standards cars looks ugly compared to Premium but standards still looks better than GT PS2 or GT PSP cars... and there are standards cars that looks close (or even better) to Premium too.

PS. You can choose to use standards or premiums cars since start... you just bought a satandar one for the first car.

These are standards cars.

No there was certainly no choice.
Either because of the lack of money or the car class that was needed to proceed/compete.

That was my first car:

Jaggies, low res textures (especially black drawn lines on the textures that try to give a feeling of depth), flat car models, no reflections, I've also seen some non-transparent windows on some cars etc.

and honestly the car looks even worse from the back and front.

Nice try?

Wait some minutes please... there are good and bad looking standard cars... I will show you some from my own game.

I'm actually not impressed with GT5.

Being unable to distinguish GT5 from real life is not a testament to the graphics of GT5. It is a testament to how poor your vision is.

I get the feeling that the screen shot with the horrible looking trees is taken from real time game play and the ones ethomas just posted are not. Just a hunch.

That looks on par with a car in Forza 2

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

My first car was the Honda Civic R... Premium... so maybe I'm and all the others guys that choose the Honda (the most used start car) were just biased.

In game shot in Replay Mode (there are more AA)... if you what better pictures I can show to you some from Photo Mode but I think it is not the case here.
