And yeah I agree with most in this thread. You can't really say GT5 is the best looking racer imho when a vast majority of the game looks like a hi res PS2 game with all the "standard" assets. The quality of the visuals are extremely inconsistent. There's a reason that anyone trying to talk about how great the game looks always uses tiny gifs or bullshot replay/photomode screens.

I think arguing whether GT5 has best console graphics in racing games cannot be entirely be approved. Ethomaz is of course saying this as he is easily the biggest GT5 fan I know of. Yes, the games looks very good. Yes, the game does not always run at 60 fps. Yes, some car models are bad, others are not. To me it's almost on par with Forza4. Technically I would say Forza4 is better for gamers because of the more stable framerate but that's just my opinion. Both look exceptionally great and both are definitely fun. There is no prize to win if the other one has slightly better graphics.

So you all are right. Gran Turismo 5 has the most value for your bucks with some of the prettiest cars and graphics and at the same time with some of the uglyst graphics this gen.

Forza 4 can't be compared to GT5 graphically.

GT5 is 1080p.

Forza 4 is 720p.

And Forza still looks 'comparable'.

If the PS3 was rendering GT5 at 720p, the amount of detail and effects it could produce would make Forza 4 look like a Wii game.

And at the same time if Turn 10 made 70-80% of their in-game assets hi-res Forza 2 Xbox assets, maybe Forza 4 would have hit 1080p like GT5.

Give me a more consistent, across the board level of quality over a game where bits and pieces look great and the rest looks downright average at best. I really, really hope Polyphony ditches the whole "premium/standard" design for the PS4 and just gives us one 100% "premium" game.

It fine to see xbox fans playing GT5 instead others games... just shows how the GT5 is important to they even buy a PS3.

That is the main reason GT5 keep selling year after year .

just about all the cars i drive in gt 5 ( and for the most part the cars most will desire to drive anyway ) are premiums
after playing the game extensively i've come to the conclusion that many of the posts that go like but but most of the cars are standard cars etc are just people that are looking for something to complain about

for those that have issues with the standard cars... which standard cars do you find yourself driving frequently?

i only ask that out of curiosity and even then the standard cars ( as far as i have seen ) as ethomaz demonstrated do not look that bad

it'd take some time but i could post my own replays ( a couple with standards )

but even then i don't think that'd change anything some people just have an agenda

then again its also true that i started playing this seriously a fair while after launch so maybe i didn't experience the issues others have

What other racing sim would they talk about? Most of them don't own Forza, so they might as well talk about the best sim available.
