Big cinematic experiences are probably going to suffer. Those will be hit hardest by higher development costs. If Tomb raider can't run a profit now, how is it going to do it with a smaller install base that is expecting a huge leap in graphics.

Open world games are going to thrive however. Games like Skyrim and Far Cry are most to benefit from extra rendering power without the need for much more expensive development.

A year after the PS3 and Wii launches

The same data shows that the PS2 still reigns as the dominant console for usage, with its game play accounting for 42% of all video game console usage during June. The Xbox 360 and PS3 rank fairly low in comparison, with 8% and 1.5% respectively. What's most suprising is that Wii takes last place with only 4% of the total console usage.

2010 Xbox 360 is the main platform for used games, with PS3 right behind them and the Wii right behind the PS3.

And more casual stuff like Nintendogs, Wii series. Also think God of War and Gears will get stale. Halo still got it for a while.

I the dance and fitness genres will fade with the next consoles. Just Dance sees most of it's popularity from the Wii SKU, but since Wii is pretty much kaput at this point, I think Just Dance and most of it's popularity dies with it.

most of the Wii centric genres most likely. Motion sports games, dancing games, fitness games, mini game collections, Mario games (yeah I called it a genre).

Other than that probably the fighting genre and JRPGs, unless Versus or FFXV can turn it around. (handhelds not counted)
