Theres a health and fitness craze going on in the US. Casuals (especially women) games and fitness games will never truly be through in the US because people in the US are trained to like incremental change and new fitness craze gimmicks. This is why Microsoft called women the new "core" when really they should just say they buy alot of casual shit.

Think Kinect with the Wii Mote. Wii HD if you will. Last gen methodology can still work in the new gen. Technologywise Nintendo is still running on last gen tech so they can pull it off, but their biggest problem will be convincing people they should buy wiimotes for their Wii U.

What you call idiotic is really just blunt accuracy. Try making Americans buy the Wii U and then ask them to buy the Wiimote as a secondary. The Wii for the majority was a momentary pleasure that collected dust. Wii Sports, Wii fit and games of that ilk were the main games. Neilson even went on record to say that despite the high sales of the Wii it got the least use of all the consoles. With the Wii U's to make it more commercial viable, bundle it with a Wii mote and make it a Wii HD. As I said before, people in America are like robots, they like incremental change. If this werent so, COD, Apple products, Starbucks, Pop music and things of that ilk would be in serious trouble.

Have you ever thought that in these times of gaming a good portion of those people could've sold back those items to Gamestop? Moms know exactly where to bring back their things when they buy stuff at Gamestop. I was there the Christmas of Wii Fit U...all...moms. They knew exactly where to return that stuff when the craze wares off. Gamestop is the perfect place for the feverish buying and reselling habits in America. Momentary pleasure is huge over here. The chances of people having to repurchase their accessories is huge. I am not saying therent any left who have their Wiis, but to those are one of two people:

1) The ones who neglected their Wii's after a while and didnt think about trading it.

2) The Nintendo faithful who collect their consoles, or still just so happen to have it. (Those are the minorities of Wii owners)

JRPGs will decline even further.
Fighting games might decrease as well, but they do have a loyal fanbase.

I think cinematic gameplay experiences will be big next gen. Sandbox not so much.

I see this market going the Xbox 3 route. Kinect will do great.
