Thus the go for exclusive so you get Nintendo behind you, and try to generate buzz about it.  Someone in here actually expected a rerelease on the PS3/360 to "sell tons".  Go figure.

Its probably another timed exclusive lol. Really, the only games you can say are forever exclusives for Wii U are the many Nintendo first and second party games, Capcom, and maybe Ubisoft games.

What? Did you completely miss the recent Rayman debacle? And you might or might not remember a little bunch of games called 'The Capcom Five'?

lol never heard about the Capcom Five (though I know the games...except the cancelled one). Interesting story.

Rayman and Ninja Gaiden come to mind. Not saying that this will happen, I kind of doubt it. The game is so old as is, so i dont think they will bother. I hope Wii U owners give it a whirl, its good, but i dont see it settng the world ablaze.

Was dues ex a good game? Seems like a run-of-the-mill fps.

The only title I can think of that's farther from "run-of-the-mill fps" and might still be called FPS is Metroid Prime.

I'd call Deus Ex a stealth/action RPG.

I don't care if those features will leave Wii U, but I can't see how the hacking on gamepad feature will appear on other systems. This is one game that I will buy for Wii U, because it seems that effort is being put on it.

Even if it is planned they're not going to say it. That's not good marketing.

Razors Edge wasn't announced as x360/ps3, and then later was. Not saying this will. But, they'd get a lot of people to rebuy a game, for doing next to no work. And easy Digital Distribution.

So, exactly how notifying that the update is coming to the Wii U help its sales?  If there is no plans for there to be any other release of Deus Ex for anything but the Wii U, and not saying so, help sales?

There is another Deus Ex that HAS been announced for the other consoles.  The issue you have isn't with the announcement, it is with the lack of 360 and PS3 rereleased versions.  And I think it is highly presumptive that people would rebuy that which they already own, or traded in.

it getting more attention (such as this thread, speculation, etc) because it's best version of a game around a ~89-90 meta rated game when the wii-u has a lack of software, and it stirs the pot from users of other consoles, that it otherwise wouldn't have. You could certainly make the argument that internet hype =/= sales.

Actually Human Defiance was an 8-bit april fools joke. It's not announced.

I have no issue with anything, besides you pulling that out of your ass. Especially since I don't play PS3 or 360... >_<. I even said that I'm not saying this is going to be re-released. If SE wants to release it only on wii-u that's their perogative. Just that I think it will, based on previous evidence.

Rereleases obviously work otherwise companies wouldn't do it repeatedly, it's worked before on same platform, The first Deus Ex had a re-release, Thief had a re-release, Street fighter's had re-releases, Ninja Gaiden's  re-releases, Multiple Resident Evil's with  re-releases. A lot of Square Games in Japan. Multiple GoTY editions from other games.

You had issues with the marketing doing this, before I spoke, so you are incorrect in saying your ONLY issue is what I said.  I questioned your comment about that.  See the bolded comment above, as it shows to the contrary what you just wrote.  With the Wii U lacking anything remotely third-party exclusives, this runs counter to that trend and gets attention, and thus is actually can be argued to be a good marketing move.

good job at being wrong about all the facts though pertaining to everything else. All I said were things that were unclear in semantics. And I actually had no issue with how they are marketing. What was my issue? I said that it would be stupid to announce the other versions if they are going to re-release the other versions after the wii-u. Their marketing wouldn't be any different at this current place in time whether it forever will or will not be wii-u exclusive.

So are you saying that announcing all 3 at the same time would get more hype, then announcing the wii-u version first by itself(which was my argument and what SE did).
Whether they do or do not release the other versions in the future has no influence on the hype of release of the wii-u version or a few months thereafter. Because it is all speculation which would exist whether they do or do not release the game onto other platforms.

Selling "a lot" is obviously relative to other games that do this kind of things and the amount of work they have to put in, but you like things out of your ass.

I'm pretty sure the extra content will eventually get released on other platforms. I don't mind that though but I don't want to pay more for the game than what the others have it at now.

but honestly the more I hear about the game the more I want it
