Was dues ex a good game? Seems like a run-of-the-mill fps.

trust me far from it the entire deus ex franchise is all about choice like you can play the game like a run of the mill shooter or play it steath and not kill anyone

Even if it is planned they're not going to say it. That's not good marketing.

Could've fooled EA. They're the kings of spoiling their releases with their own announcements.

Razors Edge wasn't announced as x360/ps3, and then later was. Not saying this will. But, they'd get a lot of people to rebuy a game, for doing next to no work. And easy Digital Distribution.

So, exactly how notifying that the update is coming to the Wii U help its sales?  If there is no plans for there to be any other release of Deus Ex for anything but the Wii U, and not saying so, help sales?

There is another Deus Ex that HAS been announced for the other consoles.  The issue you have isn't with the announcement, it is with the lack of 360 and PS3 rereleased versions.  And I think it is highly presumptive that people would rebuy that which they already own, or traded in.

it getting more attention (such as this thread, speculation, etc) because it's best version of a game around a ~89-90 meta rated game when the wii-u has a lack of software, and it stirs the pot from users of other consoles, that it otherwise wouldn't have. You could certainly make the argument that internet hype =/= sales.

Actually Human Defiance was an 8-bit april fools joke. It's not announced.

I have no issue with anything, besides you pulling that out of your ass. Especially since I don't play PS3 or 360... >_<. I even said that I'm not saying this is going to be re-released. If SE wants to release it only on wii-u that's their perogative. Just that I think it will, based on previous evidence.

Rereleases obviously work otherwise companies wouldn't do it repeatedly, it's worked before on same platform, The first Deus Ex had a re-release, Thief had a re-release, Street fighter's had re-releases, Ninja Gaiden's  re-releases, Multiple Resident Evil's with  re-releases. A lot of Square Games in Japan. Multiple GoTY editions from other games.

One month after the Wii U version comes out Square Enix will sell the new content as DLC and put out a "Director's Cut" for PS360 and PC.

You had issues with the marketing doing this, before I spoke, so you are incorrect in saying your ONLY issue is what I said.  I questioned your comment about that.  See the bolded comment above, as it shows to the contrary what you just wrote.  With the Wii U lacking anything remotely third-party exclusives, this runs counter to that trend and gets attention, and thus is actually can be argued to be a good marketing move.

They'd be crazy not to release a DLC pack for the other versions.
But we are talking about Square-Enix so who knows...

eh they changed game in a quite significant way. I don't think DLC could fix that. And even if it could it would have to be several GB big.

Added the Missing Link DLC into the main story, changed the boss battles and various other small fixes/additions.

I think the situation is comparable to Ninja Gaiden 3 in that regard. Either re-releasing the game (which would mean you'd get a new achievement set and your previous DE:HR savegames wouldn't be compatible) or don't bother with it. DLC would break the previous version in that regard and I don't think that gamers would be too happy about that.
