What are you talking about? All I did was share my opinion, that the series has NEVER been about deep story, nor has it ever had the greatest or most original gameplay. Most people I've ever talked to who like these games, like them for the same reason they liked the old DMC games or Bayonetta, because they're outrageously over the top, and that's where they find the fun in them.

What exactly are you going to report, that I dared to have my own opinion? If you think the series is "Awesome", more power to you. The OP obviously didn't think this game was, so he disagrees with you too. Nothing in what little I wrote was "boarderline trolling", so what precisely are you "reporting"? What are you talking about? All I did was share my opinion, that the series has NEVER been about deep story, nor has it ever had the greatest or most original gameplay. Most people I've ever talked to who like these games, like them for the same reason they liked the old DMC games or Bayonetta, because they're outrageously over the top, and that's where they find the fun in them.

your comment wasnt even close to the topic at hand. just because i have an opinion of something doesnt mean i can freely say what i think of it whenever i want. if i thought ps3 is the shittiest console ecver i couldnt go into a thread about it and say the ps3 is a bad console

For you maybe, but for me it's one of my favorite game series just behind Uncharted. 

@OP  Yeah, I really don't know what you even expected in the game.  You sound like a lot of the other reviewers who said it wasn't as epic as GoW3 because you aren't killing gods or titans.  It's like you really thought a prequel would be able to top GoW3.  As for the weapons, how about you read what the game tells you unlocks when you upgrade them.  Graphics are the best on ps3.  

Here's my ratings:

GoW: 8.5/10 

GoW2: 9/10

GoW3: 9.5/10

GoW:A 9/10


unlocked everything. the point is all 4 elements add up to the same weapon that has the same timing and the same effects. sure you get a little difference in combos, but it's entirely unnecessary to switch at any point in the game. you can use fire forever and not come to any trouble. i know i did. i never bothered switching and i didn't have any difficulty, and yes, even archimedes trials weren't all that tough. at least in previous games, there was actually some difference in the weapons.

if you think the graphics are so good i have no idea where you're looking. i can see so many jaggies and low res textures i couldn't believe it was on ps3.

it's not about killing gods or titans again. at least they should've added some other things to kill rather than the same 3 women over and over again.

I'm sure most reviewers said that it was the best on ps3 and some moments looked like CG.  Seems me and a good amount of people in the thread think the graphics are the best so far on ps3.

Graphics are top notch too. Thats just a loosing battle for the op. Maybe he has an eye disease that is degenerating his eye tissue

I find it funny how some people only realised now that GoW games are light on story. The interesting part is the mithology. The story is completely ridiculous to non-existant. Kratos is angry, kratos kills. Its about as deep as the Hulk.

GoW games are for good graphics and mindless hack and slash fun.

you never played one have you? the stories have always been deeper than most games ever made. the narrative story telling by gia is also epic

its best to stick with the fire element in many situations because it allows you to build rage meter quickly

once you gain enough meter your attacks get more powerful and additional attacks open to you like shooting lightning in a wide arc from your blades


The Zeus attack power is the most powerful. It saved my ass during the trials of archemides. More hits for the duration of the attack.


yeah my thoughts exactly i loved the lightning magic the most 

but not just the magic but the rage meter attack as well

although the other 3 were useful for different situations as well:

if its a single large opponent like a cyclops or centaur use ice to freeze it temporarily

if its a very large group which surrounds you use hades which has the largest AoE etc

no not true at all

if you did nothing other than hit square and triangle repeatedly sure but otherwise for anyone who took time to look at the moveset that's nonsense

the same could be said of GoW 3 for example its up to the player to choose which weapon suits them best

btw what difficulty did you play on?

if you only felt compelled to fight against the gods why did you buy the game in the first place?

Compared to other games in it's genre GOW has a great story, LOL at people comparing GOW story to RPG's or story based games.
