Forums - Nintendo - Battlefield 4 skipping Wii U

Bad news, plain and simple.

Around the Network

I'll be honest, I haven't cared about Battlefield since Planetside 2 came out, I got the BF3 platinum thing too. So gogo SOE!

Side note, haven't brought anything off Origin other than BF3 stuff on PC and still won't do it. I only got Most Wanted U(not even off Origin, I did DD from eShop) because I want to support Criterion, EA can kiss my ass on Origin.

There are seemingly camps: western developers tend to support Sony and MS, japanese devs tend to support Nintendo and Sony.

Then please tell me which japanese developer is still supporting WiiU (besides Capcom who obviously received a lot of money). Xbox get more, many more Japanese games than WiiU. The only real support I see for is from Ubisoft btw. Even 3DS is progressively abandoned by Japanese devs for major releases.

Which Japanese devs have abandoned 3DS?

Sega (Vita project, no 3DS project), Namco (big Vita releases, minor 3DS projects), Falcom (Vita projects, no 3DS project), Konami (no projects on Nintendo consoles, Castlevania 3DS bombed horribly), TecmoKoei (Vita releases, no 3DS project), Marvelous AQL (big Vita releases, no 3DS project). And you do have some like NIS/Compile Heart who were on board with Sony from the start (3 Vita games in development).

Yeah the niche ones. Makes sense though.

A lot less competition. Who wants to go against Pokemon and Monster Hunter?

Namco doesn't seem very niche to me. But you're right all those publishers fear the domination of high-sellers, and that's a problem for 3DS because if Vita gets a larger numbers of small/middle sellers it will gain some ground.

I don't understand people, WiiU came out 3 or 4 months ago, there hasn't been any kind of third party conference (E3, TGS, etc.), not even a Nintendo direct aimed to 3rd party support, and yet they claim WiiU is being abandoned... I see how several games are not being announced for the WiiU, but I also see how they aren't being announced for PS4 (Dead Island, Saints Row), what is the difference?

Less support for a platform is bad no matter how It's spinned. If the 360 didn't get the new Dead Island or Saints Row I would not be happy.

It's apparent that EA and other companies are not pleased with current Wii U sales and/or think sales won't be taking off by the end of the year, otherwise why would you not make a Wii U Port?

It's just that simple.

Ummm....Dead Island and Saints Row are coming to the PS3. Those games aren't next-gen.

This is a game that Wii U could use, but it's not surprising givin that it's an EA title. It's a second-tier franchise, but a solid one. Wii U mostly needs the top tiers: GTA, CoD, AC, WD, FF, RE, the big namers. If those come - and about 50% are - the rest will follow eventually. But Battlefield would be better than Deus Ex, that's for sure.

Lol, ok. You keep telling yourself that.

That's the point. If these games can come out on current gen consoles like 360 and PS3, then there really is no excuse of "Wii U can't handle the game". It's clear this has to do with sales of the console/games.

Which they are also making the assumption that people who own a Wii U already own a PS3/XBox 360 or a decent PC. Now, wasn't the point of the Wii U to get people who owned a Wii to buy a Wii U?  One would think.

It's just that simple.

Funny how all these types of threads are posted by a Sony fan ;)

Talking about the topic at hand, rather than trying to deflect the negativity back onto the OP... Is usually a good thing to do.

Anyway. I predicted it about a Year ago now that the Wii U would struggle for support in the opening 20 Months, though Im surprised its not getting this considering its EA and EA philosophy is to milk everything like a big bovine whore for all that its worth.

Nintendo need the big hitters out soon or interest in Wii U simply wont grow.
