Forums - Nintendo - Starcraft 2 on Wii U

Heck they made starcraft on the n64 so why not.. Some short cut buttons mapped To the buttons, camera mapped to the analog and with the touch screen acting like small screen selecting and guiding your units it would work..

Since I don't have a Gaming PC, I can't buy Starcraft 2, but if it released in Wii U (Like starcraft 1 released on N64), then I'd buy it.

An RTS on Wii U could certainly work.

But not Starcraft. It's just not feasible. Not in the way being described.

Oh, you could campaign. And you might even be able to play some limited form of online. But you could never approach the level of dexterity and precision that is required for e-sport-level play in Starcraft on a controller.

What graphics do you have? I bet it would run on low settings on what you have, it runs on my GMA 4500MHD.

(If you don't know, type dxdiag into the Start Menu search bar thing and press enter, then tell me what's written on the Name or Chip Type lines on the Display tab of the resulting dialogue box.)

Ok, same problem with PS3/Vita cross play, it requires you to buy an extra add on device to make it work. Wii U also has the Wii mote, it be easier on the Wii U. Also why are bring Sony into a conversation about Starcraft, and Wii U?

To be completely honest with you, and call me dumb if you like, but I wasn't actually aware that the WiiU could be used with a Wii mote, I thought it was just the tablet controller and the more traditional controller (Wasn't it the Pro Controller on Wii, is it still called that?)...

And I was just saying that it isn't only the WiiU it would work on, and was giving an example, which is ofcourse the PS3/4, where it could work just as well. I wasn't trying to fanboy it up or anything, was just using it as an example. Besides, if that were the case, surely Sony would include some sort of motion control option with the PS4, right? I'm sure I saw a Kinect-like bar/camera somewhere...

wel that is completely understandable given the lack of good makerting behind the Wii U :P. Yes, its still called the Pro Controller, just with an U in the title now lol. Just to be clear, all of the Wii controllers work on the Wii U, I think it would have pissed people off Nintendo had made every buy a new motion remote.

I wasn't trying to imply that you were a fanboy by saying that, I just find too many people bring things into discussions around here that aren't part of that discussion. Sorry if I giv e you that impression.

Guys really? Is no one here educated in SC2? It would be possible sure, but the game DEMANDS a keyboard for competitive play hell even average play, there's simply so much; like come on guys lol

If this were to happen, would people stop labeling the pad as a gimmic?

RTS has failed to make it to consoles successfully, due to interface issues.  Black Ops 2 attempt in that area was poor for the same reason.  With the Wii U, and also PS4 controllers, RTS has a shot of coming over.

My computer plays Counter Strike Source on Medium-Low. It's over 10 years old, but I don't play computer games, so I see no reason to update. Plus it has no internet connection, I used it primarily to watch movies.

My laptop with internet connection is linux. It's specs are probably worse then my tower, but all I use it for is internet, and you never get virus's on linux.
