Forums - Gaming - Capcom announce DuckTales Remastered

Now that there is precedent, someone needs to get on updating this:

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Shiny made Aladdin actually.

If by "Shiny" you mean Dave Perry. Shiny wasn't established until after Aladdin.

All I can say is my usual crapcom response.

Vita or GTFO!!

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

In short, those behind Aladdin went on to do Shiny Entertainment.

It doesn't say that anywhere.

If you look at the actual credits, a lot of the people who worked on Earthworm Jim had also worked on Aladdin, but not all of them had. And not everyone at Virgin who worked on Aladdin went on to join Shiny. So it isn't accurate to say that Shiny made Aladdin.

It depends on what you want to consider a company.  If you consider it a legal entity with name, then no, Shiny didn't make it.  However, if you consider a company its employees, then the core of what is Shiny worked on Alladin.  Sure, others may of been added, but the same people who worked on Aladdin, also work on Shiny's stuff.

This last point is important, because what was floated around here is the "CLEARLY SUPERIOR, NO QUESTIONS AT ALL!" Capcom did SNES Aladdin, while the "GARBAGE BEYOND BELIEF" Virgin did  the Genesis/Megadrive Aladdin. Since we all know that Virgins sucks beyond belief and nothing is good, CLEARLY that makes the SNES Aladdin the ONLY choice for Aladdin, while the Genesis Aladdin, is something that makes the ears bleed and is ONLY praised because it was fodder in console wars.  So yes, Genesis fanboys have to resort to games that make people's ears bleed, because the Genesis isn't even in the same class as the SNES, in ANY capacity.  Or so the thinking goes and spun here.

Even if the core is mostly the same, saying that it's the exact same company is pretty dicey. I wouldn't say that Platinum Games = Clover, for instance.

But the most praised point of the Genesis version was the vastly superior animation, and that was done by actual Disney animators. Furthermore, the animation work was directed by Virgin's Andy Luckey, who didn't go to Shiny. So I do think it's actually a distinction with a difference in this case.
