Even if the core is mostly the same, saying that it's the exact same company is pretty dicey. I wouldn't say that Platinum Games = Clover, for instance.

But the most praised point of the Genesis version was the vastly superior animation, and that was done by actual Disney animators. Furthermore, the animation work was directed by Virgin's Andy Luckey, who didn't go to Shiny. So I do think it's actually a distinction with a difference in this case.

You know, people refer to Platinum Games as Clover, for a reason.  When you look at who worked on what, you end up following their work.

I don't know of anyone doing this, but if they do they are wrong to do so. There are obvious similarities in philosophy because of Inaba and Kamiya, but not everyone at Platinum came from Clover and not everyone from Clover went to Platinum. It's on the whole a pretty different crew.

The short on Aladdin is that the Genesis version is arguably a breakthrough in computer animation for sprites, while the SNES version doesn't need to exist. That is the main difference. In both cases, it is doubtful that Aladdin is ever going to get a remake. There isn't that large of a demand for either game, and the only notable of either game is the Genesis animation, which isn't really that special today actually.

... learned ONLY NOW that there was a second Duck Tales game on the NES, released in 1993! Now why don't they remake + bundle the 2 straight away, given how short the first one was? It's 1-2 hours of gameplay, that's just not enough.

can't wait to spend my money on this remake!!! Hopefully the gameplay really is still the same and if this is a succes they should remake the PC game of Ducktales The Quest for Gold.
