If by inferior you mean better animation, in game sounds and music, then yes, that might explain the "unncessary violence".  Anyhow, people can decide for themselves among the two here:

If you judge a game's quality by its animation, I guess so. But in that case Dragon's Lair is the best game of all time.

I'm sorry, but no Genesis game has better sound than its SNES counterpart. Everything rendered by that sound card sounds harsh and tinny and makes my ears bleed.

Going to agree with badgenome. The Genesis game had better animations, but everything else is worse. The music is easily better on the SNES.

But let's focus on the gameplay. The SNES game is simpler constructed (Aladdin has no weapon, instead jumps on enemies) and is relatively easy, but it's fun to play from start to finish. The MD game has some dumb level design and flaws in the collision detection which can easily lead to frustration. The MD game is one of those titles that impressed with its graphics, but there wasn't much substance behind it.

In the end it's not surprising that the SNES game is better, because it was made by a better developer. Capcom beats... who was it again... Virgin (?) any day of the week.

Shiny, which did Earthworm Jim, did Aladdin.  So, no, you don't blanetedly say that Capcom wins.

And I will again add another link to this debate on which version was better:

WayForward is king of modernized 2d scrollers. This can turn out no other way than amazing.

Speaking of, have you seen the guy on youtube playing the moon theme on an organ? If not, go for it! Nothing but goosebumps :D

Sorry you think EVERY SINGLE GENESIS GAME has sound that makes you ears bleed.  Sorry that the likes of Technosoft and other titles have bad music and sound, in your opinion.  You said EVERYTHING rendered by that sound card makes your ears bleed.  Well, that is your opinion of course.

They don't all have bad music. Bad sound, yes. But Ys, Thunder Force, and Streets of Rage all have amazing music that is somewhat marred by a sound chip is so fucking inferior to the SNES' that it's unbelievable.

Depends on what is rendered.  Usually the SNES music and sound is better.  But, depending on the style, it can work.  Actually, I find it interesting that you have issues with the sounds on the Genesis and not the music.  And yes the SNES sound chip is superior.  Doesn't matter if it is in the right hands.  I do know that emulation will botch Genesis sound.

Gets me every single time ...

One of the best musical scores for any game ever made.

Capcom please make new games. Stop remastering everything. I mean how much longer will it be before I'm posting this same message on Duck Tails Remastered: Remastered Edition Turbo.
