A super metroid reboot
An all new Metroid Prime

Or anything with metroid on the box would make me happy.

I'd rather see a new Zelda for the 3DS than Metroid.

But Zelda 3DS is bound to happen. Better to hope for Metroid instead.

It would be like hoping for the next Mario game to come out instead of a new Mother game.

1. Metroid 5, it should be a sequel to fusion. The ending of Fusion left some interesting plot threads that still haven't been touched on. I think that they should expand on this.

2. No voice acting for Samus. I'm fine for Samus talking, as long as it is in text form. Fusion actually did a good job of this. Also, Sakamoto better not be writing any of the dialogue or story.

8. Don't let Sakamoto any where near it, he's a joke, and doesn't know how to make a good metroid game

You do know that Sakamoto wrote and directed Metroid Fusion, right ? I mean, it doesn't make much sense to me to praise his work on Fusion while arguing that he should stay away from the franchise...

In addition to this, he was the director of Metroid, Super Metroid and Zero Mission, worked as game designer in the original Metroid and as scenario designer in Fusion. He was even involved a bit in Metroid Prime, as part of the Japanese crew that supervised the game along with Miyamoto and some others.

It seems really unfair to me how some Metroid fans dump on him these days just because of one bad Metroid game, even if said game were as bad as these people claim (I haven't played Other M yet, so I can't comment much on that).

All this aside, I do agree with your points about isolation and exploration of course, and if a 2D Metroid on WiiU is out of the question, then I'll take it on 3DS.

The thing is, Sakamoto had been slowly straying away from what makes Metroid great. Metroid fusion was very light on story, but did end in some nice plot points for the future.

But fusion wasn't that great a game, it was very linear, and I consider it to be in the lower tier of the franchise.

He did do some good stuff, I will give him that. But his vision for Metroid is not something I like, he wants more linear gameplay, and more story. In other M he fully realized his vision. It was an abomination, he simply doesn't want to make the kind of Metroid that fans want.

I aknowledge his great work in the past, but he is not right for the job anymore. (I think the same of Eiji Aonuma)

How about a 3D metroid that plays like SM3DL? I mean like a 3D environment but plays as a 2D platformer? It worked out well wit mario, why not samus?

They tried it in Other M.

It almost/ might have killed the franchise.

I agree with this as well.  You have good taste my friend.
