The thing is, Sakamoto had been slowly straying away from what makes Metroid great. Metroid fusion was very light on story, but did end in some nice plot points for the future. But fusion wasn't that great a game, it was very linear, and I consider it to be in the lower tier of the franchise. He did do some good stuff, I will give him that. But his vision for Metroid is not something I like, he wants more linear gameplay, and more story. In other M he fully realized his vision. It was an abomination, he simply doesn't want to make the kind of Metroid that fans want. I aknowledge his great work in the past, but he is not right for the job anymore. I agree with this as well. You have good taste my friend.
