I think 2D fits 3DS better. Although, the 3D could had a lot to the experience.
Still, a game like Metroid Fusion or Other M would be the best for 3DS.

What about the hybrid thing but using both screens. Play the 2d segments along the bottom screen and switch to FPS on the top screen and view in all its 3d glory. Also switch to top screen when in morphball, the 3d mazes would look great, but keep the sidescrolling action to the bottom screen only.....what do you think??too gimmicky??
We need a Vania and fast. Castlavania did not deliver the Vania experience. Now its up to Metroid and I will die if it does not have the traditional core. On a smaller, note no more prequels
I just beat Castlevania LOS- Mirror of Fate and though the game wasn't a great Castlevania game it nailed how a 2D side-scroller should look on the 3DS. Graphics were phenomenal but I'm sure that Nintendo would do a much better job with both graphics and framerates. I think that The stereoscopic 3D in that game was some of the best the 3DS has seen in a long time since uprising came out. The lighting and textures in LOS-MOF were really damn good and I was surprised that it looked that good. I think that Nintendo could still do a better job and make Metroid the best looking game on the 3DS.

I dont mind if she would talk because this part in OtherM was actually somewhat interesting .
I also dont mind that she loses her abilities since its part of the gameplay (which is like the Princess in Mario gets kidnapped running gag).
Well we could start without having those abilites (Like Link never had the MasterSword before he always finds it in during his adventure and is like: EXCUUUUUUSE ME! That shit's awesome)
Why they make her lose the shit all the time is beyond me...
so again I dont mind if she loses her stuff as long as they dont try to explain it (other than malfunction).
As long as the gamplay is solid and not as boring as it was in other M I am fine. People usually hate other M for the narrative but if they'd really played it they would know that the controls suck the first person parts are just dumb and that the game is somewhat boring. The game somehow never "starts".

| Mensrea said: I'm a huge metroid fan. Metroid is my favorite game franchise of all time. I've put some thought into this, and here is what I think the 3DS version should have: 1. Metroid 5, it should be a sequel to fusion. The ending of Fusion left some interesting plot threads that still haven't been touched on. I think that they should expand on this. 2. No voice acting for Samus. I'm fine for Samus talking, as long as it is in text form. Fusion actually did a good job of this. Also, Sakamoto better not be writing any of the dialogue or story. 3. Focus on exploration. Metroid Prime 3, Other M, and fusion really strayed away from the exploration aspects that make the Metroid series so amazing. No more of that, I want it to be like Super Metroid/Prime. 4. Make it 2D, the 3DS could do a prime game, if it controlled like Prime 1 on the gamecube, but frankly, a 2D game would look better on the limited hardware, and I think that 2D Metroid is made for handhelds. Since we won't be getting a 2D Metroid on consoles, best to leave that part of the series on handhelds. There is still a large audience for a 2D Metroid. 5. New Powerups and bosses. Metroid Other M had nothing new. They rehashed bosses, powerups, and the aesthetic was same old same old as well. The Prime games really blazed new trails for the Metroid franchise, if I want to fight the old bosses, or use the old powerups, I'll go back and play the old games. 6.Keep the story light. Don't do an Other M ever again. Even if the story in Other M was great (It was terrible) it would still be taking away from the focus of Metroid: Gameplay. 7. Isolation is key. Metriod Prime 3, and Other M featured a lot of side characters. That's not what I want in Metroid dammit. I want a huge alien world, where I am alone. The feeling of Isolation is one way that Metroid is awesome. Don't take that away. Atmosphere is so key, and when I'm alone on an alien planet, with creep/awesome music, I am happy. 8. Don't let Sakamoto any where near it, he's a joke, and doesn't know how to make a good metroid game. Can't wait for this, I buy Nintendo systems for Metroid. Fingers crossed for a reveal at E3! |
I agree 100% This is what I want. A true sequel, no voice acting, exploration mandatory, side-scroller, abstract narrative and Isolation..
Just curious, what did sakamoto do wrong? I'm not defending him.. all I know is he's the director of all jap metroid games. I don't really know what his contribution was exactly.

This. Metroid should die once and for all. |

Tell me with a straight face this doesn't look great!
I should really get into the Metroid series. I'll start with the Prime series, then Super Metroid. Oh, I heard Metroid Fusion is a really good one too.
