While I agree with you, there is only so much an apposing person can do. Especially when someone is trolling (And there has been an excessive number of them lately with an irrational religious type fanaticism.) There is also something helpful where members of a community reprimand and police their own.

Still, I support what you say, and hope it can improve VGC again. I have been avoiding it lately.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

My only thoughts are if you push the people away who have opinions, then the community will be worse off for it. Relaxed moderation is better and more welcome than strict moderation that quashes views.

Nope. If you let the troublemakers their way, the more reasonable member will be scared away.

Trouble makers =/= the opinionated. The mods here would benefit from learning troll bait when they see it rather than lashing out at the intended outcome. Reasonable members won't be scared away though, they just don't bother replying to trolls and carry on as normal. Ive seen it so many times that the opinionated get mistaken as trolls, and when they are all kicked out the site dies because no one actually starts good conversations.

Wow, that's a lot of ban hammer action! What's been happening? I've been sort of busy for a few days.

That would be a lot easier to do if it weren't for all those fucking Sony fanboys around here.

I was so tempted to post this.

Lol'ed hard, great post.

i had a game idea. it basically dealt with actions of user's and put them on trial for those actions. it would lead to debates which seems not to be of interest to the user's of vgc anymore.

didn't even need to be about a user's actions, it could have just dealt with user opinions, and why they feel so strongly about them ect.

Fans vs fanboys. Feels like that particular 'civil war' that Chris Rock talked about in an infamous stand-up routine back in the 90's ...

This essentially applies to everything else for every debate matter.

I've been saying this since LBP launch (see sig)... it's a loosing battle and the reason I took a 2 year hiatus
