Hey cool, a thread about some youtube blogger that admits it is stupid to be quoting youtube bloggers. What's the point of this??

Yes and no. That Watch_Dogs is coming to WiiU does not really say the at the Wii U is as capable as future systems - because it isn't. Especially with PS4 going with 8 gig of RAM, the Wii U is effectively half way between PS360 and PS4. It does not have the same power.
But it doesn't necessarily need it. What Watch_Dogs does show is two things. First, PS360 and PS480 are very similar in many ways. The new systems are just better versions of the older ones. The images are in 3D, they are in HD, the architecture is similar. It's like upgrading your PC. It's not like in past gens which were more like adding a 3D graphics card to a computer that didn't have one before. So games that are running on Next Gen will mostly be able to run on PS360 if so desired, just in scaled down form. Those games will definitely be able to run on Wii U.
Second, is that it shows third parties have interest in bringing games to Wii U. This is really what is most important. Several publishers, especially Ubisoft, have shown a willingness to bring AAA core titles to Wii U. These titles missing from the Wii library was a major negative. If Wii U has at least some or possibly most multiplat titles appearing on it, the system presents an interesting option for consumers. The Nintendo 1st party library plus many third party titles is an attractive option.

In response to people saying the Wii U is underpowered, his reply is "It is getting Watch_Dogs! The Wii U is supposed to be SO underpowered, how can you say that it is underpowered if it gets Watch_Dogs?" Well Watch_Dogs is coming to the PS3 and XBox 360 also. So, I am curious, on what way can Watch_Dogs be used as evidence that the Wii U has sufficient power next to the PS4 and Microsoft's offerings for next gen content. Can someone explain? |
i believe watch dogs will be an interesting test case for the wiiU. at some point we'll get screen shots for each release...
ps4/xbox8 >?>?>?> wiiU >?>?>?> ps360
...so where will wiiU land? for the moment we don't really know. but i guarantee a shit storm of threads (either way) once we get some screens. watch dogs is like a barometer for wiiU's perception as a next gen console.
The Wii U will be safe for length of time which developers continue to support ps3/360. Although the next gen exclusives we have confirmed so far appear to be skipping the Wii U. I'd say this is a sign of things to come.
Witcher 3 and Thief are the next gen exclusives I was referring to.

What other plats have those games been announced for?
if the devs take there time watch dogs will look the best on the wii u out of the ps3 and 360 because of its 1 gig of memory
VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3

Well, and it has to with the claim you made in which way? It was a multiplatform-title and it sold best on Wii.

It was however not Nintedo fan base who was responsible for success of Just Dance on Wii

Ah, that is your point. Didn't get it before. Although we have no demographic breakdown of game-sales I would assume you're right in this.
