From Gaf:

1 DS (2007-02-15) Professor Layton and the Curious Village 119,816 / 968,033
2 DS (2007-11-29) Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box 307,771 / 928,089
3 DS (2008-11-27) Professor Layton and the Unwound Future 360,778 / 862,967
4 DS (2009-11-26) Professor Layton and the Last Specter 301,290 / 659,504
5 3DS (2011-02-26) Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle 117,589 / 354,344
6 3DS (2013-02-28) Professor Layton and the Legacy of Civilization - 130.686 /

3DS (2012-11-29) Professor Layton Vs. Ace Attorney 135,450 / 279,633

Those are numbers are acceptable. Layton was just huge during the DS era and has been declining during the 3DS time. I do wonder if it can outsell Miracle Mask.

Animal Crossing is unstoppable. Assuming it sells even only 70k a week from now on it's guaranteed to surpass WW by the end of the year in Japan.

America on the other hand already has the "life simulator" games in Facebook, mobile phones.

Maybe sony will have some encouragement to cut the price for Vita elsewhere (i really want one, but i'm waiting now), this is the sign of things to come hopefully. Going from 11,000 to 62,000 (Vita Japan this weak is double Vita WW last week!) is very nice, hopefully this momentum can last. Maybe, everyone can stop calling Vita a failure as such now. Wii U doesn't look promising though, i think that needs a price cut as well. Just need better support for both systems also.

Xbox One, PS4 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Not bad Vita, better than most expected! Second week is vital. Hopefully nothing below 30k!

AC is just insane!!

Vita, what a failure..... hahahahhaha just 60K during price cut week with hot games... Unbelievable.
3DS sold 200,000 in 2011.

LOL LOL and LOL. In this rate this system will drop to 10-15K again soon. Even with price cut masses don't want it. What a mess...

62k is pretty good :)

It sold around 50K in a week with Hatsune Miku debut.

And now, with hot games and official pricecut -- just 60K. How this can be good? It's a disaster (not such if Vita in Japan is something like, ehh, Sega Saturn, in the end). But it never going to beat 3DS.

I'm impressed with Vita sales. I thought my 40k prediction was optimistic.

Now, lets hope it can sustain these sales.

I like how it's at that troll number, neither really awesome or doom and gloomy to most people. :)

Anyway I think it's good, the rest of the month matters though...if it drops below 10k this month, I think I'll just declare the Vita pretty much doomed, even as a Vita lover.

Games wise March is great for Japan:
Week ending 3/10: Soul Sacrifice and Tales of Hearts...this will keep vita levels good I think.
3/17: Nobunaga no Yabou (strategy/Niche), Cure Mate Club (?), and Steins Gate (visual novel)...not big games, but having games come out keeps people hyped.
3/24: Dead or Alive Plus, Atelier Meruru, One Piece, Pro Yakyuu (baseball), : All this games aren't super big, but they are big enough to keep Vita good. Definite up from previous week.
3/31: Oboro Muramasa, Sei Madou Monogatari (looks super cute): Small games overall.

Action: 1
ARPGs: 2
RPG: 3
Strategy: 1
Adventure: 2
Fighting: 1
Sports: 1
