Regardless of anything, I wanted a PS3. I don't want a WiiU.

So WiiU is worse.

I think we're trying to look at the bigger picture here. Not just our personal opinions.

Obviously PS3. (Even though Wii U is pretty rocky. It needed to release later.)

Lol at everyone saying PS3.
Just pull up the sales figures guys. WiiU is set to go worse than the DC at this current rate.

The DC didn't have Mario Kart, Smash Bros, 3D Mario, Zelda, etc. ;)

So when they come out, it might just bump it up to a DC flop, rather than beating it with a WiiU flop !

The DC was bogged down by the failure of the Saturn and the 32x and Sega CD before it, plagued by piracy, and lacked Nintendo's heavy hitting franchises. The Wii U's problems are trivial in comparison to the Dreamcast's woes. There's pretty much no way the Wii U won't significantly outsell the Dreamcast.

Well sadly the epxerts don;t agree with you and would say the WiiU has many problems, not just a lack of games.

First of all, the amount of time the "experts" have been proven horribly wrong in this industry is astounding; they predicted Dreamcast level sales for the Wii, which is now nearing 100 million.

Secondly, that article made no comparison with the Dreamcast.

The Wii U isn't pirated to hell like the Dreamcast was. The Wii U isn't coming after a series of failures like the Dreamcast was. The Wii U has 8-digit selling franchises, which the Dreamcast lacked.

"experts"?? Yes, experts. The people who have degrees and experience. You really don't have a leg to stand on to argue otherwise, and when have they been wrong? They got SW:TOR perfectly right to every fans horror and screaming. They said the Wii would fail? Yeah - maybe some guy, not Forbes.

I linked the article to show you that the WiiU does have problems beyond just lacking games, just as the DC had more than one problem...not that they have the same problem.

Well that's nice, but how are they going to address 5 of those points?  You just skirted around the issue and said "but its Nintendo so they'll be fine amiright?"..no, not really.

A large portion of the WiiU's poor launch can be attributed to the poor condition of the market in general right now. It's obviously not only that to blame, but the market condition certainly doesn't help and is definitely a major contributor.

PS3's launch was at the market's peak. ALL of its problems can be blamed on Sony.

I think the PS3 had a worse start, but it was a powerful console that managed to develop all its potential through the years, something that looks unlikely for the Wii U since Nintendo follows a different approach.

I't looks like Nintendo was overconfident with the success of the Wii, It could have been better if the had launched a true next-gen console with specs a little under PS4/720 even if they had to sell it for $399 at launch and then drop the price when the PS4/720 released. Sony and Microsoft would have been in serious trouble then because they would be competing against a similar console that is significantly cheaper.

Degrees and experience haven't stopped the "experts" being wrong many, many times. Practically entire industry said the Wii would continue the downward slide of the N64 and Gamecube. It went on to easily outsell the two of them put together. And since you're so convinced of Forbes being some kind of all-knowing beacon of knowledge, one of their columnists said Microsoft would sell Xbox off to Sony.

And every one of thwe problems they listed problems can be solved fairly simply.

1. People can easily relate to a touchpad, everyone has smart phones. Not a problem.

2. Do an ad campaign similar to "this is not DS, this is 3DS."

3. Lower price point will attract casuals in time. Not the whole Wii audience, but it doesn't need them all to be successful.

4. The games are coming.

5. The price will drop in time.

6. Offer difference experiences to Microsoft and Sony.
