Saleswise it's WiiU obviously. Many ppl already posted that WiiU has the worst start of a console ever (I didn't double-check data, though).

if your talking about launch, i think nintendo did everything right, good price for a new console, good games and mario, while ps3 did everything wrong.

I strongly disagree that they did everything right. They didn't have a single big "core" exclusive that really showed the power of the console, and their 1st party efforts (NSMBU and Nintendoland) were casual games on a console out of the casual price range.

yea but nintendo already tried that method, with N64 and gamecube, and nintendo, gave up on impressing gamers with graphics, it's about impressing gamers with new innovative controls method, and it worked with wii.

The Wii launched as $250USD, the Wii U at $350USD. Nintendoland and NSMBU appeal to the kind of gamer who goes for the more affordable console, and right now the Wii, 360, and PS3 are all cheaper than the Wii U.

The issue with the Wii U is after the good launch in Japan and US (EU was bad)... it started to drop like I never saw any other console drop.

I want to see a update of these chartz... "data up to Jan 12th, 2013"... a februray update will be nice and I can see PS3 ahead Wii U already.

of course there cheaper, same way ps2, xbox and GC were cheaper, but that didn't stop anybody from buying a wii,  and the basic price is 299$

The Wii U is in more direct competition with the 360 and PS3 than the Wii was with the 6th gen consoles. At this point, most of their games are the same, and there's no Wii-Sports-esque killer app.

Weel it's more like FOUR MONTHS later in Europe but the graphs have launch aligned... so a fair comparison and with the Feb update the PS3 will be ahead Wii U.

well that the problem, nintendo banked on the tablet, just like they did the motion controls, motion controls sold the wii, the tablet is not working on the moment. take away the motion controls from wii sports and what do you have?

I didn't llook at the graphics but europe is ps3 strongest terrority, so it's really not a fair comparsion when you think about it.

The tablet isn't as big a system seller as motion controls, that much is obvious. But that's not why it's failing; it's failing because the software is almost all (A) ports that people can just get on their PS3 or 360, or (B) aimed at an audience outside the Wii U's price range. (NSMBU, Nintendoland)

If the Wii had cost $350 instead of $250 it would have had a much slower start.
