I'm not looking for hardware that revolutionizes games. I'm looking for hardware that allows developers to make games that are closer to what they envision.
The console is just the stage, not the performance.

As I've said in Numerous threads, these are first generation launch titles. That's like saying the best PS3 could get was Resistance FOM or Uncharted 1. U3 and TLOU are way more impressive.

Maybe your right. Playstation 2 wasn't a revolution over dreamcast and it took over by building confidence and appeal.

In many ways, yes.
1. streaming services
2. share functions
3. spectate option, people can watch and comment on your game, they can even help you out.
4. sleep mode, never done on consoles
5. download and instantly play a game

Too early to tell, but from a gameplay aspect? Unlikely.
A social one? Maybe.

You've highlighted Sony's strong points. From a Social Media perspective it's a MAJOR revolution imo.
The end of #3 is worth considering as changing 2 player online.

Only the Wii has really revolutionised gaming in my opinion with mandatory motion controls.

I agree.
Seriously though, how creative a game is doesn't come from the hardware it's build on, but rather what the developers make the game out to be. Sure the Wii with motion controls and the WiiU with it's second screen can warrant some pretty cool stuff. But a lot of people, core and casuals alike, would still rather just use a simple controller. That's why they had the classic controller and the pro controller.
I really don't know what "revolution" you guys are talking about.
Sony made a machine with decent specs that's really easy to develop for. A gigantic aspect of the PS4 development process was about removing the barriers developers typically run into when creating games. It's now up to the developers to make the games, creative or not.
