No, they're good businessmen, 'tis all. Funny how we didn't hear a peep from the Sony crowd when the biggest game of last gen, GTAIII, was a PS2 exclusive for two years after $ony signed an agreement with Take Two. (the original deal was to keep GTA exclusive through 2004, so effectively all 3 GTA games would've been released as PS2-exclusives.)

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Does Sony have a policy against timed exclusives coming to them late? No. They just stated that they expect extra content in late ports. Microsoft are hypocrites, they will refuse the game if they dont get multiplats at the same time.

It was rumored after Halo 2 that Bungie didn't want to make another Halo after the second one but Microsoft wanted a game for the 360. Which "explained" the abrupt ended to Halo 2. The Wikipedia article on Halo 3 even made reference to fact that most of Halo 3 was stuff that was orginally made to be add on for Halo 2. It is mostly rumor around that time and old rumors are really hard to reference and find online. |
It was meant to be a trilogy after the success of the first Halo.

what does that have to do with anything? Ninja Theory was never even owned by Sony. There is a lot of reasons why it failed and NT themselves said they wanted to move on from the IP so it's kind of on them not sony for letting it go. Sounds like you're really upset about this but you have no argument. If you want to try to argue somehow how Sony can mistreat their developers at least go with a real example their wipeout studio they never really gave a chance.

Because youre saying just because Bungie went multiplat means that they hate Microsoft thats really stupid.

So? That doesn't make them hypocrites. It's their console, they have every right to stipulate the rules for putting software on it. Hell, Nintendo was notorious for using the same type of tactics back during the NES days... their policy was that you could not develop games for other consoles AT ALL if you wanted to make games for the NES, and you could only make 5 games per year for the console if you were a 3rd party, which led to many companies like Konami creating alias brands like "Ultra Games" to get around Nintendo's contract stipulations.

This isn't really a Bungie things, but a Sony thing in general. Check out games like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter X Tekken, and so on. Sony seems to like paying for extra stuff. Meanwhile Microsoft seems to prefer locking up DLC for X amount of time.

What the fuck? You didn't even read my post. Fail. I never said that or even impied it. Can you even see the title of the thread? I sure hope you are just trolling.
