It's growing on me by the second...
that touchpad in the middle I would have went with a bit of texture on it. it looks like a vent ,
they should have had logo this textured into it,

I'm pretty sure that isn't final since the Vita also got some changes during it first reveal and final product.
they have the sony logo up backwards, its barely visibile.

I'm pretty sure they said it can be used to track the controller position in 3d. |
I must have missed that. All I heard was them say it showed you which controller was yours.
And as i said in my post prior, I hate pointless lights on electronics and to me that is a pointless light.
Heck even if it is a motion tracking thing, it feels like a pointless light. or is that how sony's move works? The camera reads the light bulb at the end?

Just like developers were excited for the 3D in 3DS or excited for the stuff in Vita, or the gamepad for Wii U, ect. I don't take developers word for anything these days. Their word means nothing to me. I will wait to see how they impliment it or use it first. That is why I'm dissapointed and thinking this is a pointless expense. Not one game shown today was shown using the new feature on the controller. So why is it there? At least when they showed off six-axis they showed like Lair or some other games using it. This controller nothing. And compare it to the Wii U unveil when like 90% of conference was discussing the new things the controller could do. Is it too much to ask for sony to spend 5% of the time showing off the new feature? |
Epic said they can't talk specifics yet. Wait till E3. You'll see the system, maybe price, controller function and news for UE4. It's one thing that Epic was really giddy for it but for two other developers to come out and specify they were excited for the touch pad is something else. There were a lot of other things they could have said

just so.
Yeah it feels a little odd to me too, but it's a welcome piece of flair for a console that generally never has anything fun in terms of decor.

It looks... odd. I don't like it how they went back the the disconnected D-Pad. Something like the Vita's would have been much nicer. It doesn't look as cheap as the prototype, but something about the design throws me off. By the way, where are the Start/Select buttons? o.O
Looks like PS Vita will be the superior controller of choice then. Sure, this controller has triggers and presumably better control sticks, but the Vita's screen is vastly superior to that small and limited pad.
Hmm...

Hmm, not sure what I think of that.
I don't see the controller being a comofortable motion like device, unlike wiimote or move wand. So it seems like an unneccessary tech put on the controller.
So at moment, both that and the touch pad feel like money that I would be wasting.
I'm all game for a developer or game to prove me wrong, but at moment I dont' see me using either function ever, and thus paying more for a controller than I have to.
