Move was never pushed as the next coming of Jesus.

Didn't say that, doesn't change Sonys R&D expendatures, nor would that change what I previously said.

What you said makes no sense. It is in no way taboo to speak of the Move. You can speak about it all you want but if anything, Move is more profitable than Kinect. It didn't have that half-billion marketing campaign and people are encouraged to buy more than 1. Each Move unit is sold at a good profit.(Navigational, Camera, Move Wand...etc). Do you really think Move was some sort of financial disaster?

It has also sold over 15M units (Move controllers only), so hardly a failure. Of course, that number was from before the holidays kicked into gear, so most likely it is closer to 18M, now. Again, hardly a failure. I'm actually surprised it went on to sell so much, given its little amount of advertising compared to the Kinect.
As far as R&D goes, I'm sure the majority of the R&D for the Move went on during the PS2's lifecycle, as they were already showing prototypes of it in 2001.
