Could very well happen imo. They're so focused on making multi media boxes right now, but those are deemed to become obsolete sooner or later since you'll have the exact same funciotions in your TV later on
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
I would buy their games but not the system

It sounds a lot like Road Rash

but it's from EA, not SEGA.
Please excuse my bad English.
Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070
Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB
Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I'm not so sure of that... With Nintendos IP's they'd have a thing or two to say about the hw. I can see how their opinion would matter MORE than either of EA or Activision, because they could decide to side with only ONE console manufactorer, giving that console an edge over the competition. |
If Nintendo's software and IP was so crucial to the success or failure of a console, they would have no need to go third party in the first place.

I'd probably stick to PC gaming. The video game industry pretty much needs Nintendo in some way or another. If they quit making games I'll prob just play starcraft.
http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)
Not gonna happen
There is no "what if"
If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing
(mostly)
And shepherds we shall be,
For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints
The seas would part and a giant white-gloved fist would descend from the heavens and smash into EA headquarters.

They don't have to, this is just a what-if scenario^^
If Nintendo went 3rd party, then Steam would have 100% of my business, as the Zelda series would be on it. Of course, Steam would pretty much be the only gaming system around though, as by the time Nintendo goes 3rd party, that means the console industry died outright.
There's going to be a massive slump in console market next gen, so who knows what could happen?
