I saw the Great Gatsby 3D, the screen was bigger then 500 inch after the curtains moved to the side for the 2D movie Trailers & 3D movie Trailers & 3D movie.

I would suggest if you want to see is movie, to only see it if you are in the mood to be in a sad mood LOL.

And I saw the 3D trailer to "Gravity", but there wasn't much 2D & 3D trailers before this movie, which makes me think the general audience for this movie isn't seen as being into that many of this year's movies.

Anyways this movie is best to be seen in 3D if you are going to see it, trust me.

The 3D effect was good and great, depending on what scene you're talking about.

Anyways I'm glad I saw this movie before Iron Man 3, since it seems that I will really enjoy Iron Man 3 I'm guessing.

I plan on seeing Iron Man 3 this Tuesday & Star Trek 2 this Sunday or Saturday.

I don't think Star Trek 2 will be anything more then maybe just a little of what I want it to be, but I think they are saving that kind of things from the 60's series for future installments of these new movies since that would be saving the best for later.

I also think Dragonball Evolution was holding back material for pushing more installments. I do hope they make a sequel since it made a good profit and there's 3D being really popular. I couldn't help but notice such things in Dragonball Evolution as the crater that master roshi's House is in the middle of.....lake anyone. Plus there's the dinosaur eggs from the beginning of this movie and the power poll and many other things left to make the movie franchise end up like the series after a short while, but I really just want massive stories & plots in quality.

I went to see Star Trek Into Darkness last night it. It was great.
The presentation was absolutely amazing. Best 3D movie I've seen since Avatar.

I have updated the OP to include:

ShadeMaker (working title)

Its the Untitle Henry Selick Movie, set to come out on October 4th 2K13.

So we are now up to 68 3D Movie Premeires of 2013.

The release date isn't a sure thing, so I'm hoping they move it to a week that has no 3D movies premiering. October 11 looks nice and open.

Well I am going to try to see it in 2 hours. But I work tonight, so I may not get to it this weekend.

So is this why you like the 3DS so much Kaizar? Because the 3D, and you love 3D?

Well I knew it was going to get all the 3rd party support because it did glasses-free 3D, and then E3 2010 showed off a sample of all the greatness to come, plus other 3rd party developers mentioned a lot of games there where making exclusive for the 3DS back in 2010, like Spy Hunter & Batman (which Warner Bros. made a PS Vita version of to be release at the same time because they believe in the Vita too LOL) & Dragonball (which is still selling like hot cakes for a game that is still in Japan only so far) & Ninja Gaiden & BloodRayne & many more.

And the 3DS is still getting the kind of exclusive 3rd party support I knew it would, even though it lost Spy Hunter & Batman Arkham Origins 2 to be shared with the PS Vita. (I wonder if Warner Bros. will give up on PS Vita after this year).

I also knew the glasses-free 3D handheld console would inspire a lot in game developers, as shown in Bravely Default & many other 3DS games including 1st party games like Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memior.

Anyways I look forward to all the 3DS goodness as it will sell even greater when Disney & Warner Bros. & Dreamworks release their full 3R movies for purchase both digitally from eShop & physically in Retail to watch on the 3DS, with the 3DS XL making the sells even greater when the content comes.

But yeah, I do like 3D (3D visuals) & 3D Sound (Surround Sound), and I always have since I was a kid, despite almost never getting expose to any of it, but just hearing about what its like sounded amazing and then when I did hear surround sound in theaters and saw a few 3D movies as a kid, I loved it and wanted more. I can't get enough of 3D (both visual & audio), but like anyone, I always need new content to keep my interest in it.

I found a great article on stereoscopic 3D explaining why I don't enjoy 3D as much as you guys, but the solution is there. http://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/3d/stereo/reality.htm

The main problem is the Ortho factor, probably why I don't see anything as solid objects, especially people, why they seem to be projections floating in space. (Still a cool effect but more distracting then immersing)

Solution is IMAX 3D, sit in the center, 1 screen width away. (Although then you're sitting too close for best surround sound experience) It doesn't solve the convergence focus disparity but the article explains some ways they are using now to combat that.

Watching the Gatsby trailer in 3D certainly gives a good 3D effect but everything looks hollow and fake, screen size problem.

My experience with 3D is that its not worth it. I usually sit in the back of the room. The glasses are annoying to have on and i see almost no difference.

3D fans, am i doing it wrong? Should i be near the screen to feel a difference? It seems like a waste of money to me. I prefer to watch movies on normal screens. I mean, even the 3DS' 3D effect is better than what i see in the movies and that doesnt require glasses.

You only have 2 solutions if you really can't ever enjoy the 3D, so you can finally enjoy the 3D:

3D IMAX

Nintendo 3DS, you can be Stereo-Blind and still see the 3D 100% perfectly fine on the Nintendo 3DS and really enjoy it.

There is 1 other solution and that's the Nintendo 3DS also. You can be Stereoblind and see the amazing 3D in the 3DS:

And each game & app is responsible for its own 3D effect. The more newer the game & apps are, the more extreme the 3D effect is compare to the ones release 6 to 8 months earlier.

I was going to get the 3DS XL but the newer games keep getting an more EXTREME 3D effect, so I'm just sticking with the regular size 3DS as the 3D effect continues to make the screen look bigger & bigger. It's best to be 5 to 15 inches away from the screen. And if you hold it upside-down you will get the exact same 3D effect LOL but true.

You can adjust the volume of 3D with the depth slider, but I always have it up at 100% volume of 3D. The pixel density is somewhere from 221 to 226 on the regular size 3DS and 194 on the 3DS XL. PICA200 GPU produces 160 million triangles and Resident Evil: Revelations pushed 130 million polygons out of 160 million polygons peak performence. I'm curious to see how much further Capcom pushes the Polygon count with Monster Hunter 4 and New Resident Evil 3DS.

I have no trouble seeing stereoscopic images, I just don't enjoy it for real life action movies. Everything looks smaller and hollow, floating projections in space. Fine for video games and animation but distracting for real life scenes. I guess it's the opposite for you that it looks bigger.

That article suggests sitting 1 screen width away to get the correct ortho scale. (Assuming the director doesn't use zoom, I'm not sure how that's factored in) That means having your eyes 3 inches from a 3DS screen (that would be a headache) That also means for 20/20 vision you need at least 3438 pixels horizontally to start not noticing the pixels anymore. But you'll have a lovely 53 degree field of view.

Anyway I didn't have much of a problem with it before on the pc and a projector because it were all abstract games (Descent 2, Heretic II, etc) and because the zoom factor was constant. Still the novelty wore off and 2D looked better with less eye strain. The 3DS should be fine too, yet manipulating a miniature, all tiny tiny :)

I have heard that after 1 to 2 weeks of playing with the 3D ON that the eye strains go away, but the 3DS allows people to adjust the 3D, which you can't do on PC. If you could adjust the volume of 3D you would play at a lower volume but eventually play with the Depth Slider all the way up 24/7.

I guess that's the problem with other electronics used for 3D gaming, is that you can't adjust the volume of 3D for your mind to work up into better shape to handle 3D with no more eye strains.

After 12 months of playing in 3D I had woke up one day and as soon as I went outside, I couldn't help but notice that all plants looked like full blown 3D in person with my own 2 eyes. The novelty of seeing real life in full blown 3D in person goes away after up to 6 months, but every once in a while I look at a tree or some other plant and can't help but admire the beauty.

I have realize that the last time that I had seen real life in full blown 3D was when I was 18 or 19 years old. So it's nice to regain an ability lost to old age.

I couldn't help but notice when Avatar was a new movie that the news media kept mentioning how senior citizens had problems and needed to see the movie 7 to 8 times for those problems to go away, and how a few middle-age people had problems with Avatar, but those problems with away after seeing the movie up to 3 times for them.

High-polygon count graphics in 3D seems to cause the most problems for trying to enjoy 3D, but people don't have that much problems with live action and 2D sprites & cell-shaded graphics in 3D.

I'm glad it helped your eyes, but it never went away from me. I find stereoscopic illusions restrictive, still beautiful but it messes with other important depth cues that normally work together. It's trying to ignore focus and convergence cues that causes the eye strain.

For some reason I have a lot of trouble looking through binoculars. The whole world turns flat and it's hard to figure out what depth I'm trying to look at. I guess the zoom factor breaks all stereoscopic, focus, convergence and parallax eye movement rules.

I did train my eyes with autostereograms in the 90's. I made programs to generate them and made a 3D simulation fly through 3D world in moving autostereoscopic view as is included in the Magic Carpet game. Somehow those look more solid to me and make the picture seem bigger instead of smaller.

The best sterescopic 3D I have seen was in Futuroscope. A large Imax dome theatre, high speed shutter glasses and a 150 degree spherical screen with a presentation of the great barrier reef. Floating along in 3D with a fixed zoom level, it was magical and felt pretty real. Still not perfect when something got near the camera but a lot better then flat screen stereography. Too bad I can't build that in my home :)

When 3D stays with games I'll give it another go next gen when I upgrade to a 4K projector. Although my hopes are on Occulus rift instead. Hopefully the consumer version will also enable parallax head movement (eye movement would be better but that's still further of) No more missing jumps because of misjudging depth, that would be nice.
