After the way they're handling the localisation of FF Type-0 and Bravely Default, I can't say I'm saddened to hear that Square's in trouble.
Now is the time to buy Sony! :D

SE is run by lunatics.
R.I.P. good old SE rpg's.

| RolStoppable said: So many people are missing the point. S-E isn't in trouble, because they don't make games that their fans want. When their supposed Final Fantasy XIII atrocities move millions of copies, you have a hard time saying that their games aren't selling anymore. S-E is in trouble due to basic economics. If your sales numbers remain flat, but your development costs multiply, you will of course run into problems eventually. Making games that their fans want (who can hardly agree on anything anyway) won't solve this problem. Pretty much every publisher is going to face this same problem sooner or later. |
I completely agree with this post. Whenever XIII-2 costs them a fraction to make (relative to XIII) sold millions, with widely bought DLC, I doubt that's the reason why they're losing money.

I'm not sure it would make much sense for Sony to outright buy SE. It reminds me of the old discussions about whether Microsoft would buy Activision. Too much of the company's profits come from other platforms.
Sure, Sony would get DQ on Vita, but would it make SE anywhere near as much money as it will on 3DS? What of games like Sleeping Dogs and Tomb Raider, that will probably get roughly half their sales from 360?
All Sony would get from the deal is exclusivity, but they already have a decent amount of that. Kingdom Hearts 1.5, FFX HD, Versus XIII.

Oh god, some comments here are just, ..... very emotional.
Wondering how DQX is doing, is there any info about the subscriptions, copies sold, anything?
| Turkish said: If you're implying Sony has no more buildings left, you are wrong. When Sony acquires SE, they should lay off 50% of the employees and fire management, put some Sony people in charge, trim the fat and make SE a healthy company with focus. |
Sony should buy Square-Enix, sell all their buildings, and make them work out in the rain until they learn to make good games again.
I just cant believe how ignorant a company can be. ive never seen a company completely ignore fans like this. they have the titles that people want announced or could be announced but its like they actually want to fail.

Well FF7 was 12 bucks, and I got it discounted for 6. But really imo they should release all of them on steam, they've been doing it on iOS. I know a lot of people including myself who emulated them (Previously bought them years ago ofcourse), and would probably buy them again instead of playing FF4-FF6,FF9, FFX, FFX-2,FFXII on emulator.
There's some FF7 balance mods and stuff like that.
I would really want to balance, FF8, 13, and 13-2 because I think those games battle systems have more potential, if they'd actually be difficult :P.
I know I'm I'm being unrealistic. But square said PC has shown acceptble profits. and this board likes to distort statements on other topics for their dream. So I can do it too haha.
