S-E isn't in trouble, because they don't make games that their fans want. When their supposed Final Fantasy XIII atrocities move millions of copies, you have a hard time saying that their games aren't selling anymore.

S-E is in trouble due to basic economics. If your sales numbers remain flat, but your development costs multiply, you will of course run into problems eventually. Making games that their fans want (who can hardly agree on anything anyway) won't solve this problem.

Pretty much every publisher is going to face this same problem sooner or later.

I completely agree with this post. Whenever XIII-2 costs them a fraction to make (relative to XIII) sold millions, with widely bought DLC, I doubt that's the reason why they're losing money.
