Also another thing to keep an eye on is this.

Importantly, we’ve learned that Sony has told developers that it is pushing for the final PS4 RAM to match up to Microsoft’s 8GB.

I think Sony is using this as an excuse so they look on par with Microsoft early on before launch. I just don't see them switching from 4GB to 8GB this late. Also with their statment of the more powerfull system not winning the war I think people will be very unhappy with the specs of the PS4.

Xbox8 = 8gigs of DDR3

In terms of RAM PS4 > XBox8. If they  update that 4gigs to 8 then that gap will widen even more. I say its unlikely as 8gigs of GDDR5 would add too much cost to the system.

So why would Sony be "pushing to MATCH" the 8GB of Microsoft if theirs were slightly better ATM?

Doesn't make sense does it?

Unless Sony has a heads up on that "special" hardware Microsoft might have.

No, it is 100% true. 4gigs of GDD5 is MUCH better than 8gigs of DDR3. It may be half but it is about twice as fast. I don't feel like looking up the specific bandwidth numbers right now.

That is why I am wondering why in the same report Sony would "push to match" the 8GB of Microsoft unless their were other things invovled.
