I can't tell much with screenshots, to be honest. It looks great but I don't know if the improvement is all that extreme. The shadows are incredible, though, and the details and textures on that monster looks fantastic.

The problem is that these screenshots are basically not enough to tell that. Apart from lighting there has been bigger improvements in textures on characters as well. The videos released before and the latest 30 min single-player campaign video are clearly indicating those improvements. This is a feat as it has topped GOW 3 which is still in a league of its own.

I just like that these games at least try to run above 30fps with these visuals.

o.O Dat blur+colours+lighting |
Theres actually some pretty flat / bland textures in that screenshot especially on the cave walls.
But Im not gonna judge based on these screens as the in game video Ive seen is beautiful
Its mostly thanks to ZBrush, that program is so easy to use that it makes mesh/polygon sculpting more fun than work (like Blender and 3DS Max)
I am actually looking forward to this game so I can see what they have done with the designs, the program is $699 but so far, seeing it in action, and trying it myself, I think its very much worth it, if you are designing 3D models (for games or just for fun too)
I love 3D modeling, I just suck bad at texturing (can't draw 2D textures, except stick figures
)
It looks amazing for sure. One thing i like about this is that the art direction is always done so well. It not merely about pushing more pixels but how those pixels enhance the gameplay and vibe.
GowA improved a lot visuelly in my eyes when i compare it to the 30 minutes gameplay that was shown today. Im visuelly impressed.

Cave walls? They are blurred because of the depth of field. I would agree if you pointed towards the lower left corner though (although that still has blur on it). |
Its not just blur though. The actual textures themselves look low res in some spots.
Im honestly just being a bit picky as the game looks great. Its just the past year or so the consoles are really starting to show their age to me and Im starting to notice a lot of little graphical issues I woukdve never noticed 2 - 3 years ago.
Regardless I know this game will be beautiful as GOW 3 is in the best graphics top 3 for me on console with Uncharted 3 and Halo 4
