When you do that kind of joke, but aim it at Nintendo, I may believe you.

I'll work really hard to earn your trust. Next fiscal year.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

You didn't express opinions, you expressed what you felt were facts. You know, like saying "it wasn't terrifying". Other people had already said that they felt it to be the most terrifying example, but you responded by saying it wasn't terrifying. And this is one of the things you base your opinion on. You didn't say "I didn't find it terrifying", you said "it wasn't terrifying". Note that I wasn't attacking you. I was pointing out the futility of responding to someone challenging your claims by going "it's just my opinion, so it can't be baseless". You were, quite simply, wrong in that statement. Opinion can very much be baseless. And I'm afraid that you're wrong. The thread is about how certain big reviewers gave the game a low review score, even though just about every other reviewer gave it a high one. Note that Joystiq would also be considered a "big reviewer", and gave it a 90%. And the thread is, more importantly, about the disparity between them, and the question of why this disparity has arisen. We don't give a crap how good or bad the game actually is, so much as why that disparity exists. |
seriously dude? Please don't pull my comments out of context. You will notice the sentence IMMEDIATELY after the it wasn't terrifying comment was "at least that is my opinion, you are certainly entitled to your own." Go ahead and look at the ENTIRE conversation and please tell me where I was presenting facts instead of opinion.
The thing is that I gave reasons for my opinion, which is why the baseless claim doesn't apply. I gave reasons for my opinion, or in other words, my opinion was based on my experience. Thus, it is not baseless.
And how is what I said wrong or really all that different from your correction? Go ahead and read the OP again and look at the question he asked in the op. Do you just like to nit pick and pull stuff out of context to try and make some arbitrary point?

I know you were joking, but there is a definite mindset that a lot people seem to have. It's kinda sad.
If it's a repeated pattern where bigger site = more negativity, I call conspiracy.
I LOVE ICELAND!
Which was the site who gave 7.5 to Skyward sword? And how theyve rated ZombiU?
thanks

Gamespot is biased against Nintendo.
Must be MicroSony's dirt work(this part is a joke).

seriously, most magazines and webs are either paid by xxxxxxx or completely biased and not proffesional, since the PSX/N64/Saturn era.
i think this somes it up
"Reviews of a system or reviews of a game really come down to the quality and capability of the reviewer."
the only question remaining for me is, with such a huge majority LOVING ZombiU, and with all publications that print magazines failing to grasp this; WHY should anyone buy they're magazines ever again?
I suggest, we support the MANY small websites that do their work earnestly.
