What makes you say that fans of a game don't follow gaming news? The word fan is short for fanatic so if people are fanatic about God of War I would think they keep track of whats going on with the franchise.

If your talking about casual gamers who pick up a game at Walmart because it has a cool cover. I wouldn't say they are fans, but a superbowl ad might get them to notice. If it's funny. People only like funny superbowl ads.

People watch ads for the funny comercials. They don't care about something like this. Then you factor in they will have a minute probably at most.

Tough to really get a good ad for a game in a minute unless you are already familiar with said game in some fashion, and then isn't it kind of pointless.

Lastly its a commercial in the middle of other commercials during a football game. Just kind of loses some of its OMG factor personally. Much better seeing some big ass huge theater trailer during E3 to hype up a game or during a video game ONLY type of thing like 'nintendo direct' or many other things.

IDK, guess we'll see how sales do for this game, see if there is any bump at all compared to prior games in series. I don't think it will help at all.

They also spent $1.5 billion marketing Windows 8. The numbers are just astronomical.

yeah i mean how else are they going to brainwash the public into thinking that their offerings are the best. kinect doesnt have one decent game and it sold 20 million, just wow.

NO! Damn you Vgchartz, just update the fucking games sales numbers! It has sold at the absolute minimum 3 million in SCEA, 2 million in SCEE and 500K in SCEJ (5.50 million overall), maximum would be 6 million sold so an accurate estimate for its current sales would roughly be 5.75 million. ioi knows it's heavily undertracked but he said he's too busy to update. 

As for the super bowl commercial, I wish it were on tv as apposed to a live stream but hey, it's still better than anything God of War III had and that's guaranteed to pass 6 million units sold so it's looking great for God of War: Ascension, I think it will easily be the biggest exclusive on consoles in 2013.
