yeah the wii U is priced like a true next gen console over here, when it appears similar in value to the the other system. It should 229 for the highest value SKU and 199 for the cheapest. having said that I think the issue is simply games. theres nothing anyone wants on the system. Some of the core demographic will be won over this spring/summer with the unique line up of Rayman+Wonder 101+ Pikmin 3. But the masses won't acknowledge any of those titles.

Mario Kart Wii U is the one to watch and 100% sure that nintendo will push it out as soon as they can, I.E its arriving this year.

Reggie says a lot of things.  If he could be trusted we wouldn't even be talking about a Wii successor for a few more years seeing as it still hasn't hit 45 million in the US.

The only reason he said this was to try and convince consumers to buy it immediately rather than wait for a price cut.

You're both wrong.  Nintendo has been selling Wii U at over $100+ profit since launch, as given by these numbers:

Reggie also didn't know about the DSi, like at all.  He is really just a talking head.

The last thing Nintendo needs is to lose money on a price cut.
There are some things Nintendo could:
Bundle NintendoLand with the basic bundle for the same price for a limited time and bundle Mario with the Premium version instead of NintendoLand for the same price.
Bundle the basic version with 10 VC games for a limited time. Special packaging included.

Special editions if you will.

That's true retailers get half of the profit I wasn't factoring that in.  It has been selling for $100+ total profit though.  Definitely not a loss for Nintendo - which is what some were suggesting.
