You're both wrong.  Nintendo has been selling Wii U at over $100+ profit since launch, as given by these numbers:

The same applies for 3DS of course. 

I didn't click through but you seem to be forgeting retail mark-up.  Retailers don't pay $350 for a Wii U then sell it for $350.
