GBA Advance support later = Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion and Fire Emblem for me.

People tripped out that it took time for Sony to make PS1 games Vita-compatible, and they didn't charge extra to play the game on that console.

Given that the Wii-U virtual console is taking time AND extra money, I'm surprised there hasn't been more uproar.  

I don't think it's justified in either case, but there you go :P

Too bad he was wrong about that part. As noted in this thread, you don't have to spend the extra dollar to get the Wii U Version.

I don't know why people are complaining about the $1.00-$1.50 fee for redownloading Wii virtual console games. I could understand if it was almost at expensive as the original price, but for all of the extra features it seems worth it.

In all seriousness, what extra features? The only one I see that's notable is being able to play the game on the Gamepad. Am I overlooking something?

I would believe there would be some optimizing going on, and several small things like the Miiverse capabilities.  It's not a WHOLE lot, but it's still enough for some people to want to upgrade for the $1-$1.50 extra.

It's the same roms, just repackaged with a WiiU emulator. The PAL WiiU VC still runs at 50Hz and letterboxed.

Do people not understand that they can transfer their Wii Virtual Console purchases to their Wii U and play them right now, in Wii mode, for free?

Once again, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY EXTRA TO PLAY YOUR WII VC GAMES ON THE WII U. YOU CAN DO THAT RIGHT NOW FOR FREE. YOU ONLY NEED TO PAY EXTRA TO PLAY THEM IN WII U MODE WITH MIIVERSE AND GAMEPAD SUPPORT.

Still not ideal, but you can play everything you have purchased on your Wii U at no additional charge..... I'll be upgrading my games for future proofing, if nothing else. Doubt I can transfer regular Wii content to the Wii U successor.
