Forums - Nintendo - WiiU Virtual Console launches this Spring

Having these games on your Gamepad is worth a buck or two.....hell the electric bill from not having the big screen on to play some of these games is worth it.

No worry, the electric bill will have all those hours of charging the Gamepad.

I don't know why people are complaining about the $1.00-$1.50 fee for redownloading Wii virtual console games. I could understand if it was almost at expensive as the original price, but for all of the extra features it seems worth it.

In all seriousness, what extra features? The only one I see that's notable is being able to play the game on the Gamepad. Am I overlooking something?

You can play games on the gamepad, Miiverse is integrated, and you can also save games that you normally were unable to save.

That's true...

If Balloon Fight is any indication we will be able to creat save states...

That will be a convenient feature for some of those obscenely hard NES games...

I just hope we don't have to wait until a game is available on the Wii U eShop to transfer it...

That wouldn't be a problem though if all the games on the Wii VC were available on Wii U upon its VC launch...

Have a nice day...

I have a question. If I move a Wii VC game to the Wii U, and I update it, will I have 2 games installed or it overwrites the other one? For example SMB, would I have a Wii VC and a Wii U version?

If so, can I then move the Wii VC back to the normal Wii?

The transfer is one way only, from Wii-to-WiiU. The WiiU VC is a new service, so you don't transfer or move anything, you just purchase. If you already own a title in your vWii you are able to buy it at a discounted price. In the end you would have two games on your WiiU, your old Wii VC inside vWii with its respective save file and the new VC in the WiiU OS.
